Fibroids Symptoms, Causes, Treatments and Removal

I am concerned that I may have uterine fibroids. My period has changed signifcantly from my norm of 3 days of light bleeding to 1 day of spotting, 2 days of very heavy bleeding (leaking through super plus tampon ever 2 hours), 2 days of regular bleeding and another 2 days of spotting for a total of 7 days now. My period has also changed from every 28 days to every 26 days. Each month my period has gotten longer and heavier. My mother had fibroid tumors and had to have a hysterectomy. It is my understanding fibroids are hereditary. I would like to know about natural obtainable cures that actually work.
I am 31 years old and had a 1 cm fibroid in my uterine cavity. I just had it removed (myomectomy) on Thursday. I am planning on getting pregnant in the next year. My doctor at UCSD prescribed me estrogen for 3 weeks to prevent scar tissue from forming. I was just wondering if anyone else was prescribed this as I hadn’t heard of it anywhere else. If so, what was your experience? Thanks!
I just found out a have several fibroids. Yesterday the doctor did an ultrasound after a pelvic exam to confirm his diagnosis. I got a referal to an GYN doctor for treatment and it will be a few days before I get to see her. I was reading on the web the different treatment options and for those who opted for BC did you fibroids come back? I’m 31 y/o with a history of cervial dysplisia. Was curious if maybe I should opt for surgrey. I know I have to discuss this with my doctor but was wondering what you did and would you recommend it. TY.
would a calcified fibroid on the right side cause pain in the front and back of the waist and also the outer hip area and groin??
I do alot of exercise and dont know if the pain is coming from overuse or a tear in the groin somewhere or the calcified fibroid.. any information on this would be appreciated
I think I may have developed a uterine fibroid(s). I’m having mucus and bleeding discharge while I’m taking progesterone, and I’ve read they are about the only "female" issue that gets worse with progesterone exposure instead of better. Also, my mom had one of the worst cases they’d ever seen when they were doing an autopsy on her over a year ago, and I’ve read they are genetic. Does anyone want to share how their symptoms presented? I do have a doc appointment on Thursday.
If she had 1 miscarrige 2 years ago, what are the chances of bringing forth a healthy baby ? Right now she’s possibly only 3 weeks pregnant. I said possibly because she is pre-menopausal and not sure if she’s pregnant or just irregular. (will be 40 years in July). She now feels tingling all over.Act took place 1x on March 19th but she did not see her period for over 60 days. What can be done to save the baby and go to full term at this point? She never gave birth.
I have been having very heavy painful periods but short periods no more then 3 to 4 days. I am 37. Lots of small clots. Wondering if this is a sign of having a fibroid? My sister had fibroids recently and bled for like 3 months straight before she got it removed and that is NOt me so Im trying to figure out from those with them what their symptoms are. Thanks
how effective is homeopathy is curing uterine fibroids?
I have hemorrhagic cyst and uterine fybroid, and was on contraceptive pills for 7 days. Soon after I had that pill, I felt nausea, and the cyst started to hurt. And it hurts more everyday until I stopped taking the pills. Before taking this the pain that I had was an on and off pinch. Is it safe for me to have this pill.
Is there a natural way to clear the cyst and fibroid?
I am 46 years old and I have recently been diagnosed with a uterine fibroid.
I was just told I have a fibroid the size an orange. The Doctor has given me some options. First- I would be given hormones for 6 months to shrink the size of the fibroid and then have the fibroid removed. The down side is that the hormones will put me in a medically induced menapause. With all of the symtoms of menapause, including decrease in bone density. And the fibroid could grow right back!!! Next the doctor suggested Ablation. This is where the destroy the lining of my uterus with heat. This would render me infertile and does have some risks. The last resort is hysterectomy but the only one that would be 100% effective. But I would like to keep my uterus.
I am 35 years old and am not planning on having anymore children. Please if anyone has any stories or suggestions let me know I’m not sure which treatment I should pick.
I haven’t mentioned that I have had symptoms. I have VERY heavy periods that last about 7-10 days. I am now anemic because of this. Next because of the size of the fibroid it is pressing against my intestines and causing other problems.
I have recently been told I have a fibroid in my womb after being in agonising pain for the last year since coming off the Ortho Evra patch. The symptoms I have match those of a fibroid, eg heavy bleeding, severe abdominal and leg pain, and a laparoscopy found a fibroid which is 3cm x 3cm x 3cm
The docs said it is unlikely this would cause so much pain, but there is literally nothing else it could be caused by, so have been advised to continue treatment for fibroids. I am currently living on tramadol and other painkillers and anti inflammatories but cant continue like this as it will eventually cause other problems elsewhere in my body.
On the first day of my period the pain is so severe i cannot move and i often vomit, so not very nice
I was told by my surgeon to try the pill, i didnt like the combined pill as i have migraines, and i believe oestrogen encourages the growth of fibroids. So I returned to uni and asked my doctor here about going on the mini pill as advised by my surgeon. However the doctor here said that would do nothing to stop the pain. I was given Loestrin, a combined pill, but when reading the info leaflet it says do not take if you have fibroids of the womb???I am sick of recieving conflicting advice from 101 different doctors, and i am so desperate to get my life back, I am only 22 and in my final year of uni.
If anyone knows anything that may reduce the pain, including alternative medicines, please let me know, I am willing to try anything!
I dont want surgical treatment as because of the positioning of the fibroid there would be too much scar tissue in my womb and therefore wouldnt be able to carry children.
Also, does anyone have fibroids and become pregnant?Did this effect the pain at all? Or anyone tried a TENS machine for the pain??
I am literally desperate, so please any info you have would be much appreciated.
Anyone who posts ridiculous answers will be reported IMMEDIATELY
I have a follow up appt with my doctor on Friday to determine if he found uterine fibroids. I just wanted to know if weight gain is a side effect. I’ve noticed in the past year I have had some weight gain but I have not changed any part of my lifestyle including my diet. If anything I eat a little less and healthier. Does anyone know about this?
How painful was it since you only get a local anesthetic?
I have 3 small fibroids in my uterus and I was told that they would not affect getting pregnant by my doctor. I recently had a miscarriage and then D&C and was wondering if the fibroids had anything to do with this?
I will be having myomectomy surgery sometime in August. Fibroids are 8cm and 2cm. I am worried about the scar and the recovery period. thanks
I was told that i have 2 subserosal fiborids and they hurt i want them removed but i want to know really can i still have children after the trement?
I was just diagnosed w/ uterine fibroids. Dr. suggested coming in for a consult regarding our options. What are my options? I am 28 and have irregular cell growth before (age15) Could these become cancerous? Will they continue to grow? What can I do about them? Thanks for your help in advance.
