I’m 30 yrs old, and had a exploritory laproscopy 9 days ago because of pelvic pain I’ve been suffering for several months. They did a DNC, and found and removed endometriosis. They also found a fibroid tumor on the outside of the uterus, removed scar tissue from previous surgeries (this was my 4th) and found a possible dermoid cyst in the ovary. 4 days ago, I strained lifting a box, got a terrible pain in my pelvis, and have been bleeding quite heavy and still have bad pelvic pain since. It’s getting worse now, the bleeding and the pain. I cannot sleep (it’s 4 AM). I talked to my doc yesterday, and he said bleeding and pain is normal after the DNC and such. I’ve had a DNC before, but I don’t remember the pain being this bad. I’d say it’s an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10, and the pain meds aren’t helping much (percocet).
My question is, if this is normal, or should get this checked asap. The pain is terrible, and travels down to my knee, hip, back and buttocks. It feels like my ovary is about to explode! I’ve also been getting these stabbing like pains up through my vagina from time to time. It’s a quick sharp pain that only lasts a sec. but it so painful it takes my breath away!
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Any ideas to help ease this? I’m doing all I can, but nothing seems to be working. I take the pain meds as prescribed, and have really been trying to rest and take it easy. Hot baths usually help, but that’s not even working. Not sure how much more I can tollerate.
Thanks for any suggestions…..

I also have Factor V Leiden & Lupus anticoagulant. Due to these, ANY kind of hormone therapy is not allowed. I’m 32 and have no children. I would like to be able to have them if I can (someday). My Dr says to "wait & see". Anemia, pelvic pain, pressure, heavy bleeding & large clots are unbearable & I’m confined to bed for 24-48 hours of my period. I only have symptoms during my period, the rest of the month – I am fine. Pain has persisted for at least 8 months.
cannot take Lupron, it is a hormone. Factor V Leiden patients cannot take hormones due to the increased risk of blood clots.

I have uternine fibroids and I’ve avoided this for over 10 years. I’m scared. I might want surgery to get rid of it,but I’m surgery phobic. Anyone know what is involved? and is it like a C section?
I am done with childbearing and have witnessed the massage, chirporactor, supplement route for attempting to cure other ailments but haven’t tried it on myself. I dunno; its all so confusing when traditional medicine and alternatie medicine disagrees with the other adn frustrating for the patient.

i had my fibroids removed ten years ago . I am now 42 and thinking about trying to conceive once again . My gyn told me i had fibroids but we chose not to remove them as i was trying to conceive last year. I mentined to him before my periods was kinda of heavy and he said it was not that much blood to be concerned? Now for the last six months my period are beyond belief with clots and my physical turned that i have a small case of anemia ! I am always freezing!! i am wondering if the fibroids are causing the anemia. I definately do not want to remove my utereus! I am concerned about the anemia. I have grave’s disease and so far my tests show i am stable. Will the fibroids cause massive bleeding? The first fibroids were removed due to pain. I am not in pain but the bleeding every month has turned heavier to the point i am changing pads every two hours with the Poise pads which I am doubling up on.
i am going to call the gyno in the morning but i rather schedule to see him by the end of the week when i am not so heavy. I am a bit concerned because if any surgery is needed i will then turn 43 and of course when trying to conceive time is ticking. The only reason now we are tryign to conceive again is becuase i lost almost 40 pounds so we were hoping that would help with conception. Please serious answers please. thanks@!
I also noticed i am tired! even when i go to the gym. I take a multi vitamin starting this week and i the thyroid doctor recommended another iron pill which i will pick up tomorrow. So i am wondering if the fibroids and the anemia are tied together so any suggestions is appreciated.

And one of the questions it asks it says…Questions for Female Applicants and Dependents Only: Fibroid or uterine tumor; ovarian cyst; endometriosis; cystocele/rectocele; abnormal pap smear; infertility; sexually transmitted disease; genital warts; herpes; or any other disease or disorder of the genital or reproductive system? And if I was to say yes to this would it deny me the insurance? I did have an abnormal pap smear and now I have to go the the ob/gyn every 3-4 months to make sure I dont get cervical cancer…

Did anyone who had large fibroid tumors in uterus successfully go another route than surgery to deal with the problem of pain, etc. My gyne told me my uterus has doubled in size since Januaary, I have two large fibroids, and there is no other option than partial hysterectomy. I’m in lots of discomfort as my uterus is pushing against my bladder and stomach but I would like to avoid surgery if possible. Thanks.
