I was hoping to find someone out there who’s had large fibroids and had to have either a myomectomy or a hysterectomy because of them. I’d like to know what your personal experiences are with the fibroids/complications from them, what your experiences are from the myomectomy and/or hysterectomy you had. Are you glad you did it? Do you feel better now? What symptoms have you had since you had the procedure(s)? Thank you to all who answer seriously!
Joseph: First, this is not a "survey." I believe it’s pretty apparent from my question that I’m trying to find out what OTHERS’ personal experiences are because I want to make the best decision FOR ME. But, that’s a clarification, in case there’s any confusion. Second, I don’t understand why a "Joseph" would be answering this question anyway. It’s obviously just for women (unless this is an alias or something).

i was diagnosed w/ uterine fibroids and am getting lots of information that i am trying to sort out.
i just need a woman who has been thru’ this herself to give me these answers.
can fibroids contribute to this feeling of fatigue i have?
and can having fibroids change my normal vaginal scent?

Would like to hear from anyone who has or has had uterine fibroids. What symptoms did they cause for you? Were you and/or your doctor actually able to feel them from pressing on the stomach and what did it feel like? I am off to the doctor in 2 days, ive had lots of pain in lower abdomen and back as well as very painful periods and very irregular periods when ive never had problems before and 2 early miscarriages i the past year, i have 3 healthy children that i fell pregnant with very quickly.Ive had an ovarian cyst that was removed before and im pretty sure i have another one but i have 3 very hard masses in the lower left abdomen just next to my hip and i never felt my other cyst so im a bit concerned it could be something else. The masses have gotten bigger in the last month and i have no bowel problems so im sure its not that.Im not looking for a diagnosis, i’d just like to hear first hand experience please. Thank you.

ok well my mom has that and i want to know what she has to do after surgery because we found out she has to recover for 6 weeks but she is very hard headed and said she wasn’t going to rest for 6 weeks so i want to know what you have to do step by step so i can make sure she does what she needs. Every month I bloat up so much that my stomach puffs and my breast look like missles. I have had several surgeries for fibroid tumors, the last was an embolization. The weird thing is that two days after my period ends the weight leaves with it, my breast shrink to normal size and I can again see my toes. Is there anyone out there who can give me any holistic things to try to stop this phenonmena? I’m already fat and this added 6-10 lbs per month is unbearable. I have an HMO so it takes forever to see a doctor and then you get a superficial check-up with no real help. I’m currently taking diuretics but they only alleviate the pain and bloating a little. HELP ME!

My wife is have surgery coming up to remove a fibroid on her uterus, I am wondering if I could get somebody to let me know what to expect recovery-wise. I am wondering how long it will be for her until she is able to move around with just moderate discomfort and how long, typically, a person having this surgery would need 24 hr assistance. I am wondering approx. how long a person would need before they could be home alone following the surgery. I know that every patient’s recovery is different, Im just looking for generally. Thanks.

the first 2 to 3 days of my MPs i normally have very painful stomach crums. during this period i normally vomit alot and have no appetite for food. the pain i normally experience doesn’t allow me to do anything eg standing, sleeping, walking, eating or any other activity. i have asked my friends about it and most of them have told me that i may be having fibroids which needs to be surgically removed or it will lead to infertility in future. i am worried about my problem and since i don’t stay with my parents i can’t go to a hospital for checkup just to be sure if their conclusion is correct coz i can’t support my self financialy. please my dear friends tell me what i may be suffering from?

my question is why did this happend to me im only 27 and have 2 kids should i worry please help has this happen to any one else.
