Shrinking Fibroids Naturally??? Can it be done?
I was just diagnosed with having 3 fibroids. One of which is 6cm and is causing some pain on my right side. I have known about these fibroids, but have approached the "wait and see" attitude until now. Because of the pain, and heavy bleeding each month, I am faced with a decision to make in terms of getting them taken out. I have however decided AGAINST an hysterectomy. I know of too many side effects resulting in having one. Ablation is not a choice either, as my fibroid is too big. I don’t want Lupron either. I am 47 years old, and Lupron is temporary. I won’t make it too menopause with this approach. I am thinking about three options. Mynectomy, Embolization, and natural alternative methods. The later is much more appealing to me, as I live a holistic lifestyle, and I’m scared to death of surgery and meds. Has anyone had any success in shrinking fibroids naturally?? I would be very much interested in reading about your experience and how you achieved results if any. Chinese medicine? Herbs? Acupuncture? I’m all for it if it keeps me off the operating table. Thanks for the advice…
3″ fibroid on top of uterus — treatment?
Hello, all:
On Monday, an ultrasound revealed that I have a 3 inch wide fibroid embedded in the top of my uterus. I’ve been having heavy periods with clotting and bursts of fresh blood for the last couple of years, but no pain to speak of. Thanks to the ultrasound, I now know what was causing the menstrual irregularities.
I know that sometimes cutting off the blood supply to a fibroid is an option, but this one looks like part of it is inside the uterine wall. (The ultrasound tech let me view the images from the scan.) Does this make a hysterectomy a more likely form of treatment?
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to respond.
ETA: Thank you, Keltasia (((hugs back))). I’m sure it will turn out all right, but… yeah. Major surgery. Not something I’m looking forward to.
Leukemia and Uterine Fibroids?
I usually don’t like asking health questions on the net, but I am trying to do research and this situation is very hard to find. My mother just found out she has uterine fibroids that are very large. I know that a lot of women have these, but my mom also has leukemia. This leaves out the option for surgery since she can’t be around germs in a hospital (due to low immunity.) The doctors are speaking to each other right now about the option of taking a medicine for the fibroids along with the chemo pill, Gleevec. Are there any concerns or side effects this will have? Please only give serious responses, I am very concerned. Thank you.

With 5 fibroid tumors, what are my wife’s options?
My wife is 36, Hispanic, and has been diagnosed with 5 fibroid tumors on the outer uterine wall. The largest is 3cmX4cm. There is a history of this in her family.
She’s meeting with a surgeon, but that is more than a week away.
What kind of options is she going to have?
My doctor wants me to have a hysterectomy. I’m on Provera right now to control the bleeding…I have fibroids-
and they want to make sure the lining of my endometrius (SP?) does not get too thick (because of the bleeding). I’m not interested in a hysterectomy but as a vet, I believe that that may be my only option. Is it possible that I can get on medicaid (or something else) so I can go elsewhere and get treatment that’s less radical? Thanks!
