I am 29 yo, and mother of two children (ages 5 and 2). I am TTC my 3rd child.
About 1 year ago at my annual exam, my OBGYN found two uterine fibroids. Very small. One the size of a pea, one the size of a nickel.
Since then I lost 30 pounds, and am preparing to be pregnant again. But I am worried about those fibroids (even though 2 mos ago my doc said they have shrunk b/c of my healthier lifestyle).
I want to go through a midwife this time, but wonder if they would accept me, or would they consider me "high risk".

I’m just worried about those fibroids in pregnancy. Any advice from those who have been there, or professional opinions?

yes i have 2 uterine fibroids so far i have one at the top and one in the back of my uterus. i haven’t gotten them checked in a year cause my doctor doesn’t listen to me. most of the time i am sick and throwing up and headaches. and the cysts are causing severe pain most of the time. what could this really mean.
i had recently went to the ER and that doctor referred me to another doctor but they still didn’t check anything out. they just gave me vicodin and sent me on my way.
when i do get severe pains from my cysts i feel sharp pains in my thighs at the very top on the crease by the pelvis.
and it does hurt in my thighs when i do walk and they shake when i go up or down stairs. can someone tell me why? and what to do?

I am 45, and my doc thinks I should have the ovaries taken out so that my pelvic pain is resolved, and so that no future surgeries are needed. I am concerned about taking HRT but he assures me that it’s safe. Anyone have any advice for me? I am having this done laparscopically and robotically so my recovery time is cut in half. Instread of an 8 week recovery, it’s 4. Thanks,

could cysts or signs of cancer be the cause?

I am becoming more and more discouraged. About ten months ago I miscarried at 11 weeks. I was so upset; we had tried so long to concieve that baby. That was my second pregnancy; which, the first one survived. The doctor’s did an autopsy on our second baby and also examined me and then came to the conclusion that it was a chromosome problem, that is why we lost the baby. However, we tried and tried to get pregnant after this loss and were not able. Now the doctors have put me on clomid because I have PCOS. This is my second round and I am still not pregnant! In addition to the cysts, I have a fibroid; but, they say it is so small and they are not concerned. But could this be the reason for my lost baby and also the reason I am unable to get pregnant? And how do I tell my doctor to do his job? I feel like they gave me the clomid just to cover up the real problem. Along with infertility, I have cramps so bad that it simulates the pains I felt during labor with my son.

I was diagnosed with them when I was 21 and still suffering from them…I just needed some advice on what your doing to help with the tumors… surgery yes is a good option but I don’t have medical insurance and its so hard to find someone who’ll perform the surgery for me not to mention its always been said I need a hysterectomy.. I am only 25.. I want to have a child..I thought about myomectomy they all sound good.. I want relief but..I can’t afford it..just wanted some advice!

My mother was diagnosed with having several uterine fibroids.
The diagnosis was about three-four months ago. The emergency doctor said that he could not do anything about it until she met with her doctor.
My mother saw a gynecologist and she did nothing about the uterine fibroids. She disregraded the fact that my mom has several UF and prescribed her Elmiron to treat what she believes to be Interstitial Cystitis. According to the doctor my mother’s pain(s) and aches are due to IC and not the uterine fibroids. Yet, she did not test my mom for IC. She guessed and prescribed her Elmiron. How unethical, right?
My mom still has pain and aches from God knows what. We believe that her pain is due to the uterine fibroids that she has not been trated for and she is going back to the doctor very soon to make sure.

Her symptoms are severe pain in her lower back and abdominal area. She emphasizes her lower back pain as to being similar to the pain experinced during labor. Also, severe pain in her legs (she can hardly walk at times). In other words, severe pain from her waist down. When she urinates it hurts and burns. She urinates frequently. Her skin tissue feels extremely sore and hurts to the touch and her bones ache too. My mom says she is going crazy and I feel like doing something but I don’t know what. Doctors don’t treat her correctly nor pay any attention to her symptoms.
What should we do?

Okay, I do have a strong personality but lately I feel too angry and irritable…like pms everyday. Four years ago I had an embolization to shrink fibroids in my uterus. This was my first indication that my problem was hormonal. Clicking noises bother the hell out of me. I speak too sharply to people sometimes and I feel attacked at certain moments. I’m articulate and generally a nice person but recently I’ve been what even I term a "b@#tch". Anyone can relate or tell me what could be going on? I’m 43 years old, still get my period regularly, overweight, a professional and usually pretty easy going and fun to be around. HELP! Should I get meds? Take certain vitamins? Xanax? I don’t know and don’t want to just medicate myself with no results. I’m not depressed but have had a few traumatic events happen one after the other. A baby we were adopting was taken away, my uncle died in a car accident and I’m fat (again, after losing 25 lbs, I’ve gained 30 back) HELP!
