My husband and I have been ttc for about 18mths, however, we have not been successful. After about a year, we had infertility tests done and we found out during an HSG test that I have blockage in my tubes. My left tube contains blockage from scar tissue and my right tube is being blocked by a uterine fibroid growing on my uterus wall. My husband’s sperm cannot get to my egg.
Not only is this getting frustrating every month, but it is also getting expensive. Should we just stop? There is a possibility of surgery, ivf, or adoption. Which one should we consider? Anyone else frustrated like me with conceiving?
Is a hysterectomy statistically safer or is Uterine Artery Embolization safer?
painful pelvic pain throughout the month? also, without any cancer & negative biopsies? thanks
oh, i’m 39 yrs old and do not want kids!
Hi eveyone.
I have been trying to get pregnant for over a year now. i just turned 24 2 months ago
I had a forced abortion at 17 and regret it ever since. So fastforward years later i have been experiencing painful periods and intercourse, spotting in between periods and everything. For the past year i have been in close contact with my GYN we have done tests like HSG,(which was good results) Ultrasound came back normal and recently had a sonogram and yesterday i was told they found a growth inside my uterus….she is having me come back in next week for a Laproscopy to see exactly where it is but she feels that it could be blocking the entrance to my cervix. which is why i feel the pain so close to my cervix at times. I assume that i am ovulating for the fact that my OPKs are positive every month but i know thats not certain. I also have regular periods every 26-27 days. I know that i should wait till next week but im just so nervous and upset about this fibroid…or growth that im anxious to know this…is there any ADVICE someone can give me in respect to fertility being affected by a growth in my uterus. Thanks so much
an ultrasound i has found a ovarian cyst and a uterine fibroid. i am having another ultrasound next week to check the cyst again. if it ends up being something serious like cancer is the fibroid a sign that it could have spread to the uterus or are fibroids all together different? i have just been feeling so blah lately and have this bad feeling that something is really wrong, at the same time i think it these feelings might just be nerves and all be put on by anxiety. i initially went to the doctor for back pain and had a ct scan that led to a ultrasound led to this. I never really put all the symptoms together until now so i haven’t discussed them with the doctor. i looked up the symptoms for ovarian cancer and i have all of them. i am newly separated from m y husband and am now scared of what i will do if i do end up having cancer. i feel like if i go to the doctor now and say i have all these symptoms i will sound like i am just making them up from reading on it. what is the best thing to take for indigestion and bloating? i have tried tums and prilosec and midol but nothing is helping anymore.
I am 14 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with a uterine fibroid tumor at 9 weeks, after some light spotting. Last Saturday evening while making dinner i started bleeding.. heavily. Hubby and I rushed to ER to basically be told "it happens to some women with fibroids. Go home and come back if it continues for too long". At my regular doctors that Monday he called the bleeding "worrysome" and and told me to take it easy and that the bleeding means the baby my be trying to miscarry. My question is: I heard women say they had the periods throughout there whole pregnany, but technically it can not have been a real period… so were you bleeding from a fibroid? How often did you bleed? And did the baby live full term? How about delivery? C-section? Please keep in mind I have a uterine fibriod.. one near my cervix.
I am married. I have four daughters. Now that I want to take a chance again. two of my elder daughters were born when I had the overian cyst (first in Nov’97 and other in feb’99) and that after the removal of cyst (it was removed in Apr’99)I have given birth to my twin daughters in July 2001.
Before you say it’s a UTI, it’s not. It’s also not an std. It’s just one tiny spot that feels like a stabbing piercing burning feeling on the right side but not far over enough to be an ovary. I have a fibroid on the left side. I’ll be making an appt. to see my gyn but just wondered if anyone has had any similiar kind of pinching pain that comes and goes and know what it might be?
My wife has a 15 cm fibroid. She is 50 years old and just graduated from engineering school. She would like to get a job, but a hysterectomy will put her out of the market for longer than she’d like. Uterine Arterial Embolization is not an option since she is allergic to iodine used in the procedure.
My question, has anyone had MRI-guided ultrasound therapy for this condition? How did it work? Any leads on where it might be performed (other than Mt. Sinai) in the Northeast?
Thanks
