I have a fibroid tumor in my uterus and it needs to be removed. It is causing severe anemia. I can’t even function anymore. I am past childbearing age. Should I just get the tumor removed or should I go ahead and get a partial hysterectomy? How long does it take to recove from that surgery?

I am experiencing a lot of bleeding during sex, i got tested for all std’s and it was negative but a yeast infection, then i got treated and it went away, i was normal, then again it happened, but this time i treated myself with over the counter yeast treatments even thought i had no symptoms but this bleeding, then i had sex n it was fine, then next time i had sex after 4 days i did bleed again i did not experience any symptoms of yeast infection. i don’t know what to do. im thinking i could have fibroids because i have heavy periods it last about 6 days, and i spot about 3 days before my period. what could this be?

I just find out I have 5 cm fibroid right on my uterus. I am 32 years old. I am 16 weeks prgn. my first pregnancy.I have a sharp pain mainly at night now on my left abdomen. My doctor indicated that we can not do anything untill we see what will be the size 4 weeks from today on my next ultrasound. but I just cant wait for four weeks knowing that anyhting could happen between now and 4 weeks from today. I read online that I could take some type of drug that could shrink it but I dont understand why the doctor did not suggest it. I am so worried for my baby. I have been trying to conceive for 2 years now and now that I am finally pregn, I could lose my baby due to this fibroid. I am so scared. do you think I should consult another doctor. is this commun among pregn women. what are my chances from not losing my baby. I spent new years eve of 2008 in the emergency trying to find out what is this pain I have in my abdomen. then with the ultrasound we found out that it is the fibroid

It is causing discomfort like incontinence, constipation and bloating as well as a painful period. I was wondering if it damages my organs to wait. I have lived with this for awhile already. I am asking because I get the week between Christmas and New Years off and didn’t want to miss too much work. I am not sure how long it took to get to be that size since I hadn’t been to the OBGYN in 5 years.

I have a health problem with uterine fibroids. I went to several doctors about it, and they all say that the most effective way is surgery. Recently, I’ve learned on the internet about enzyme products I’ve mentioned above. Why don’t doctors mention it? I understand nothing beats surgery in its effectivenes, but…

what it mean if mydoctor tried to do a pelvic and had a hard time getting in the check around and I may have fibroids but not sure going for ultra sound tomorrow I got alot of symptoms of fibroids but other conditions can have same all or similar symptoms so whatever is going on hope its treatable curable and not life threating

i was diagnos with P.C.O.S. in 2003, but now i am totally healed, done blood work and had two ultrasounds which revealed no cyst and me ovalutaing, but my doctor said i had a very small uterine firbroid and their is usually nothing that they do when its this small, should i be alarmed, i have no symptons at all and everything feels normal , never have painful periods or nothing!

I have a 6cm uterine fibroid (grew 2cm in 3 months) with not much bleeding or pain. My doctor recommended hysterectomy, but I decided to try some herbal remedies first. I’ve been taking this ‘FibroidClear’ for a month and feel no difference so far, but I’ll give it another 2 months before I do a checkup (not much hope, though).
Has anybody tried it and with what success?

has anyone ever had a fibriod operation?im having about 5 taken out about 6 weeks after i have this baby,(im 6 months preg.) im just wanting to know whats its like,please dont scare me!!

Ok here is the thing. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 5 years during 95% of the time I had no insurance. Well in Nov. of this year I got health insurance so have been at the DR. a lot. I bled for 7 1/2 months straight. Went to the ER so many times during this process and was told every time that everything was normal. I felt like I was being over looked. When I went to the dr he ordered a ton of tests and everything was fine. I have no health issues, no fibroids or cysts and a perfectly healthy cervix and uterus. I am overweight though, but like the dr said i am very healthy for an overweight girl. He scheduled a D&C which is in 2 weeks and then an appointment to start fertility treatments. Is this really going to work? Is there anyone out there that has gone through the same thing? What can I expect? I have been taking prenatal vitamins for 1 month now and for the first time ever my cycle started normally and lasted 7 days. What if I was to get pregnant before my D&C, would they know?
