Fibroid tumor came and went?

I recently had an appendectomy. After my surgery, the general surgeon told me he found something during the surgery and was concerned, so he called in an OB. The OB also saw it and diagnosed me with leiomyomas disease. They both agreed that I have developed a fibroid tumor. The OB wrote up a report stating it was a 3cm tumor in the right broad ligament, and I would benefit from a hysterectomy. I followed up with my own OB, who read the report and ordered an ultrasound. I went today to have the ultrasound and the tech looked and looked and looked, and no tumor. Anywhere. Nothing. Is it possible it disappeared or that the original surgeon was seeing things? Or the tech missed it? I am not really having any symptoms, no heavy bleeding, no irregular bleeding, a little crampy now and then, but we’ve sorta chalked that up to the poking around during the appendectomy (which was one month ago). Thoughts?

I’m 33 years old and have just ended yet another relationship that was going nowhere. I was told by my doctor I need to have a baby soon due to uterine fibroids (I eventually may have to have a hysterectomy). I don’t see me finding a man to marry and have kids in the next couple of years so I’m having to consider other options. I thought about a sperm donor but I’m not sure I’m comfortable with that. So that leaves me with adoption. It’s been my goal and passion in life to have to have children. I feel like I was born to be a mother, so I would be heart broken if I never had children. So does anyone know if it’s possible to adopt a baby when you’re single and how hard would it be?

What do fibroids feel like?

I was told I have a small fibroid by my GYN, 3 months ago. I am feeling like a muscle or something near my hip on the pelvic bone. Is that what a fibroid is? It can’t be ovarian cancer, god forbid, because the side I feel it on there is no ovary. I was operated 10 years ago on that side for a benign ovarian cyst that caused my ovary to be removed.

Specimens listed on Hysterectomy path. report?

This might sound ridiculous, but do the specimens that are listed on the pathology/medical reports mean that they were the organs removed during my hysterectomy? For example, in my operative report it lists "Specimens: uterus with multiple fibroids, cervix with both tubes and ovaries’ Those were removed, right? Yes, I should know about my surgery, but this part if very very important to me. Help!!!

i feel like screaming..?

Hi There,
We have been ttc our first baby for 20 months now.
I have pcos, endomeriosis and uterine fibroids.
I had a laparoscopy and d&c in Aug 09 and May 08 to remove cysts and endo with no success falling pregnant.
My GYN will not give me Clomid due to my age (21 in 5 months) and I have seen 2 other Gyn’s who have said the same thing.
I have had my blood tested millions of times (slight exaggeration but ALOT, I have had scans etc
I have tried pre-seed, soy isoflavones, charting etc
My best friend is 15 weeks pregnant (not planned) and my cousin rang to tell me last night she is 14 weeks (again not planned she is single).
I am at my wits end.. I have regular 30 day cycles, I ovulate (had tests)..
Can anyone suggest anything that I have not already thought of? Words of wisdom? Something..?
I think Im starting to get ttc depression..
I have had all my hormones tested as well as a maternal screen..

And to the lady GeeWhitkars or what ever.. I dont have a baby to enjoy, I am trying to GET pregnant.. Read before you leave such a horrible post..
Also what are soft cups??

Has anyone ever had a successful pregnancy when you’ve had?
submucosal fibroids? I had a miscarriage in Feb this year and was scheduled to have a fibroid ( I believe it’s 3 cm or so) removed on Monday before we started TTC again. Well today I found out that even though we were very responsible and careful, I am 5 wks. pregnant again. I am terrified of this fact as we lost the last pregnancy at 8 weeks. Anyone have any insight or helpful info?
Trying to repost this today in a slightly different category to see if there are any more responses. Thanks.

barely 2 weeks later! I’m extremely tired all the time even when I get lots of sleep. My bowel habits have changed (actually I’m more regular. Went from every 3-4 days to 2x a day) and my colon’s sore. And I have fibroid tumors. Not to mention ADHD, IBS, pancreatic cysts and depression. What could be causing all my symptons? Or might all of these conditions be caused by one core problem?

Hi guys! I’m just wondering, how would you know if you have either or, or both? Are ovarian cysts close to the belly button? Do uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts cause two different types of symptoms? Is one more common than the other in younger women as apposed to older?

I’m 26, and think I may have one of these. I feel a small mass, like a dime or quarter size close to around my pubic hair above my pubic bone, on the right side. I don’t feel much pain but discomfort when I get up and start walking.
I really want children in the future… Will I be able to have a normal sex life and healthy children in the future? Thanks so much for your help!!
And I’m going to be making a ob/gyn appt tomorrow, what will the doctor do when I go in to get checked? Thank you!

How is a uterine/ovarian cyst/fibroid diagnosed?

Hi guys! I was just wondering, how does a Dr check for a uterine/ovarian cyst/fibroid? Does he/she perform an ultrasound on you, similar to the one done on pregnant women?
Afterwards, what treatment options are available? Can a woman have sex/children afterwards?
Thank you so much for your help!!
