They are not harmful to your unborn baby, and won't cause a miscarriage. The only issue is when you give birth.. if they are low near your cervix they can block the baby trying to come down the birth canal! Talk to your dr about it. It was 11 cm at it's largest. I had 2 healthy pregnancies while I had the tumor, but about 12 weeks into my 3rd pregnancy the fibroid started to grow and possibly terminated the pregnancy. They can't say for sure the tumor was the direct cause of the miscarriage, but it seems to be the reason. I had the fibroid surgically removed (laparotomy)about a month after the miscarriage, and about six months later, I got pregnant again. It looks like a good, healthy pregnancy so far.
