I told him that I am having severe cramps…some days are better than others. I only took the depo shot once back in April 2008 and never received another. But why would he put me on Alesse birth control when I don’t want to be on ANY birth control…I told him I didn’t want any.
Why didn’t he check me for fibroids or do an ultra sound to see what was causing the cramps???

I have a lot of scar tissue because of c sections and a few fibroids which are causing me a bunch of pelvic pain. I am thinking about requesting a hysterectomy. Did you have one and how do you feel about your decision to do it?
I went for the pelvic ultrasound this morning and they poked and pushed and prodded because she said I had a lot of scar tissue and she couldnt get the pics she wanted. I also have a big fibroid on the right side of my uterus. No wonder I have been living on Naproxen, Tylenol EX and Ibuprophen every 6-8 hrs.
Are you glad you had a hysterectomy? I see it as my only option to get me out of this pelvic misery I am in. I am kind of sad to have to give up that part of my anatomy, but I nearly bleed to death everytime I have my monthly cycle and this pelvic pain is something else. I just want out of this pain. Any advice would be helpful.

Just wondering has anyone ever gone to an obgyn visit with a diagnois of possible endometriosis and a large fibroid to be told you need to go on LUPRON and then DEPOROVA for a year or until you reach menopause. This if it takes your pain away will tell us you have endometriosis and then we can decide after that regarding surgery but you must go on it for at least 6 mohtns to a year. I suffer from chronic pain for 4 years which gets worse and debiliting for me right before my period. Other obgyns told me in the past that a myometctomy can be done to remove the fibroid or a hysterectomy b/c of the high level of pain you are in. I did ask what are my options and I was told this was my only option as we here at (XXXX) will not do that. LUPRON is the drug from hell and how any dr. can put any woman on this drug needs thier head examined. I did mention the side effects of this drug and she seemed to downplay the side effects. I was at first elated to think great no surgery but then I found more info on the drug which blew my mind!! OF course surgery is a last resort but after 4 years of pain from another condition which gets considerably worse before my period why was i given only one option and no more. I am young and on Medicare and will reach menopause in about 4 years. Maybe she was trying to help by putting me on this drug but I have never been told you only have one option only and if I could find someone else to do the surgery then go ahead but surgery is invasive etc. She also said htat fibroids do not cause pain b/c women who have babies in their uterus do not get pelvic pain and babies are much much bigger. Mine is on the back of my uterus. I have had 3 dcotrs in the past tell me to get it removed or to get a hysterectomy but this is the first to say you only have one option we do not offer anything else. LUPRON Jfirst to see how you do. IS this normal……………………? jsut curious as I am trying to understand the no other option thing until you try this first to make sure this is what is really causing your pain. Any thoughts anyone………………….this is what I fjound about LUPRON……………..

I also found another site with over 30-40 womens testimonials on the horrific side effects they went through from heart attack, to forgetting, memeory loss, hot lfahes, anger, depression, heaches, nauseau and hair falling out and after they stopped many were dealing with effects that did not go away. I did not put this on here as they would not have wanted it on yahoo would my guess…………………………thanks

yesterday mornig i went to the er with pain in my lower left side,i assumed it was ovary pain an ultrasound was done and they found 2 fibroids in my uterus, however the er dr. said that fibroids would not cause my pain so he ordered a catscan w/dye and the results came back that i had scattered polyps in my sigmoid&descending colon is this a sign of colon cancer?I have an apt with my regular DR.tomorrow i’m just wandering now since cancer does run in my immediate family.since i don’t just have 1 polyp and have scattered ones in to different parts of my colon does this increase my chance of cancer?i’m also only 35 has any one that young ever had colon cancer or polyps?i’ve also been getting diarrea alot the past 2 months does that have anything to do with it.thank you serious answers only please.

I have 2 fibroids that normally would not cause one any pain. However, one of the tumors I have is located on the scyatic nerve. This causes discomfort and sharp pains depending on the babies movement. Recently I have a constant discomfort/pain in my leg. I called the Doc last night and he has given me hydrocodone to assist in the pain. Doc gives the ok to take two, I can also take tylenol pm to help me sleep. I asked if this is safe and he assured that its safe. Stress from me can harm the baby, and getting the pain to calm so I can sleep is priority. Discomfort still there and per Dr will not go away till birth. Shooting pains decreased just every now and then. This has been going on for over 7days and sleep is all I want knowing that I will deal with this till delivery. 4 Hours is all that I average right now and I am so tired I feel like I can’t think. Anyone heard of such a thing and what releif can I try?

My mom found out she had blood clots in her legs, which was caused from fibroids in her uterous, she had 2 surgeries to get both clots and fibroids out. After a while her legs began to get dark and red around her shin bone, holes began to form and it looked like it was eating away her skin. After 2 more surgeries to try and stop it, support hose, and a Una boot, nothing has worked. Does anyway know of any alternative ways of healing this? She is only 42 years old. Help!?

I am starting my menopause, and I have fibroid tumors. I am having cramps so bad. And headaches. No OTC seems to work, especially for the headaches. I put heating pads on my stomach, but I am not always where I can do that. The heat does help some. It is making me sick to my stomach, also. I have been to the Dr. He said that my fibroids are causing more pain. I was always able to control my cramps before I started "the change" I thought the "Golden Years" were supposed to be good! LOL Any suggestions?! I am not bleeding, really. Just spotting.

I had a large fibroid that I had removed surgically 6 months ago and want to try the hcg drops to lose weight. Could the drops cause another fibroid? Or if you already have one, make it larger due to hormones?
Thanks for the info Eddie, but that is not what I asked. Are there "women" who have used this method or a medical professional that can answer my question? Will HCG affect a fibroid?

What are fibroids? What are the causes and are they curable?
