I was told I have a small fibroid by my GYN, 3 months ago. I am feeling like a muscle or something near my hip on the pelvic bone. Is that what a fibroid is? It can’t be ovarian cancer, god forbid, because the side I feel it on there is no ovary. I was operated 10 years ago on that side for a benign ovarian cyst that caused my ovary to be removed.

Why could that be?
A number of fibroids exist in my mothers uterus and possibly a pulp.
One of the fibroids exist in the submocosal location? Im not enitrely sure what this means but I believe its growth is causing the heavy menstrual bleeding of my mother and it does need to be operated on, cant anyone help me?

I’ve suspected fibroids for a while now. I got an ultrasound last month and yesterday, my doctor told me that I have three big ones and some small ones and because of the location of the fibroid, the only way I can remove them is to remove my uterus. I’ve been married for three years and haven’t been able to get pregnant. My doctor said the fibroid could be the cause and that even if I did, I wouldn’t be able to carry the baby to full term. She’s suggested surrogacy! I’m still in shock and I don’t know what to do.

I am 19 (almost 20) years old and engaged. I am still in school and do not want to try for a baby until I am done or in my last year of school (which could be anywhere from 3-5 years). I had very bad menstrual cramps from the age of 14 on and would routinely miss a day of school every time my period started. I now have a mirena and I don’t have to worry about that anymore because I don’t really get periods.
BUT when my mirena was placed I was told that I had a tilted uterus. My mother says that she had a tilted uterus as well, and she had endometriosis and fibroids which led her to a hysterectomy at age 39. Both of her sisters, her mother, and her aunt have all suffered from either endometriosis, fibroids, or both. My mother and her sisters had no trouble at all while they were young (in fact the majority of their pregnancies were accidental!), but every woman in my family who has tried to conceive a child past her mid twenties has had a great deal of trouble (my aunt started trying for her 3rd child when she was 29 and didn’t get pregnant until she was 36). I am not sure at what age they developed endometriosis and if that was the cause of my mother’s tilted uterus or if it was tilted before her endometriosis developed. My nurse practitioner doesn’t seem to think I should worry about it. But with the combination of painful periods and a tilted uterus, should I be getting ‘tested’ for endometriosis? I’m worrying that it is possible that I am developing endometriosis faster than other women in my family have and that when I try for a baby around the age of 24 or 25 I will have a long road of trying ahead of me!
Also, does anyone know how mirena might effect endometriosis, if at all?
Any input or stories about dealing with tilted uterus/endometriosis/fibroids while trying to conceive would be appreciated!

stomach enlarge (look like 6-7 months prego)!! Its been a long time with pain, prolonged heavy periods, lots of pads! And I am anemic cause of the prolonged periods (heavy bleeding) Those of you have gone through this I want to hear from you. Did you lose any of your hair during this process of them giving you medicine or the hysteronomy? I heard you can lose some hair but was not told what brought about this effect! And will my stomach appear any smaller after this surgery since now the fibroids have me looking 6-7 months prego????!!!!
I was told I needed the hysteronomy cause I have one large fibroid and 6-7 smaller ones they have enlarged my uterous tremendously! And hysteronomy would remove the fibroids and the uterous, this way the fibriods would not return. What is Myomectomy?

I had a Mirina IUD for 4 years. I just recently got it removed because I was having some pain in my uterus and thought it was causing it. I had also had a history of cyst so I thought that cyst could be the case also. Well I went in and had an ultra sound and turns out I have a large fibroid on my uterus. It hurts really bad and the only way to have it removed is for me to have a historectomy. (take my uterus out) which would leave me not being able to have anymore kids. Im VERY upset with this situation. I don’t know what to do, I cant stand the pain but I dont want to loose the ability to have another baby. Can I sue for this??? How could I know if the IUD caused this?

Bleeding, anemic, extra tired, getting frustrated easily even lil depressed at times and lack of concentration because of tiredness. I thought I was ready for this upcoming hysterectomy next month, but now I am having mixed feelings yet knowing I do not want to continue to bleed heavily, extra periods, less sex drive, large uterus size of a 6-7 pregnant woman!!!! I have not been myself in a long long time. Why do I think these fibroids will shrink and I won’t have go through surgery, but they are pretty big and do cause me problems. I had a pap smear done and it came back normal. Will I get my life back after this surgery, will my stomach go down, flatten or something? I really cant continue with this but yet getting nervous and need encouragment from someone who been through this. Please respond to my question.

I had a baby via c-section two months ago (also took out some fibroids-no problems there). I got the Paraguard IUD on July 1st. I had normal after baby blood; bled a few days after insertion of IUD and a few days ago i started my "regular" period but its soooo heavy and tons of clots. I know iud can cause heavy flow but is this normal?
