I am 24 years old and have been getting my period since I was about 13. When I was younger my cylce lasted the norm 5-7 days. Now for the past 10yrs or so it lasts anywhere from 3-7 days. Does anyone know why this would happen? I had a uterine fibroid that was removed last year and my cycle hasn’t really changed except the fact that it will come one month at 28 days then the next at 26 days and so on. Every 4 months or so I will get it on the 23rd day. This makes it hard for me to figure out exactly when I am ovulating. I have been trying to have a baby for a while now and when I got the surgery there were no blockages or anything at all. They told me my ovaries looked "beautiful" If anyone has these same issues or knows why this would be happening please let me know. Thanks!

I live in northern kentucky, near cincinnati. I am struggling due to a tumor about the size of a human fist on my uterus, its blocking my rectum and messing with my bladder. They are not sure if it’s cancerous, but i honestly believe its just a fibroid tumor. I have searched, called, went to different OB/GYN’s and no one wants to help me due to me being laid off (thanks economy) and no medical insurance. What should i do? Where should I go? Indiana, Ohio, Different parts of kentucky, I just need the help right away! Help?

The operating surgeon left about 120 minutes into the surgery, and 3 hours after he left she was wheeled out of the theatre alive by nurses and an anesthetist.
My friend believes that the surgeon left the theatre prematurely and failed or neglected to conclude or to supervise the conclusion of the surgical procedure he had commenced.
About 3 days later the stitches and pipes were removed from her, but afterwards she started complaining of exhaustion. A Doctor took her blood sample for a PCV test the next morning, which test result showed a reading of 23 points (against 28 points a day earlier), but nothing was done until about 7 pm when the Hospital brought blood to transfuse into her. This, they informed my friend, was to improve her blood level since she was not discharging blood.
The Doctor administered the pint of blood straight from the fridge and his wife went into a shock and started shivering. Shortly after this time, she could not breathe well and started gasping for air. She was then put on oxygen until the next day when she died.
Whats wrong here? I need answers!

Described as being ‘a nice big juicy one’ by my doctor at 5.5 x 4 x 3.5 cms (yeuch, thanks for that, I wasn’t hoping to take a bite out of it, sorry if you’re snacking at the moment), it’s on the outside of my uterus wall at the top and to the rear. It’s causing no pain or period problems, but I think it’s causing pressure problems.
I’m a big wuss and so far have never needed to go to hospital for anything so I’m not thrilled at the prospect of any kind of surgery, though of course I’ll do whatever is the best for my health. I’ve got an appointment with a specialist coming up, who’s going to prod me about a bit and run some tests to see what, if anything, needs to be done. I just wondered if anyone else has had similar problems and can give me an idea what I might expect to happen? Thanks in advance for your help.

hello ladies i have had problems with firbroid for more than 10 yrs now. i am 31 yr. been trying to get pregnant again after miscariage due to fibriod last yr. i was told i have blocked tubes as well so ivf will be qicker for me. my question is, though they said the fibroids are small, could it not have been the course of my miscariage. and will those injections for ivf not affect the fibroids. i need your advice as i am not working and hubby have to get a bank loan for this. should i insist on the surgery to remove them first. thanks for all your contributions.

I had 2 fibroid adenomas removed from my left breast in Feb of 2003 (1 at 6:00 & 1 behind nipple). Only a little more than a year after surgery I had a lump in the same 6:00 position and my nipple inverted again like before the surgery. I had a mamo & ultrasound and was told that they were inconclusive and I needed a biopsy. Not wanting to go through surgery for every lump I was going to get, I chickened out and neglected to go back to the dr. About 3mos ago, I started having pain in my left breast that went from my armpit to my nipple. I went back to the dr who ordered another mamo & us. Same results except that now I have lymph nodes in both breasts as well as an inconclusive solid mass. I NEED to schedule a biopsy and will. However, the gyno also gave me the bad news that my Pap came back abnormal with low-grade cell changes. I’m a 33 yr old pretty healthy woman – so what are the odds or chances that I have breast and/or cervical cancer? Any information on these symptoms, conditions, tests, diagnosis, procedures, etc would be greatly appreciated. I’m on pins and needles worrying because I’m the mother of 4 children. Please help.

I am a 54 year old woman and I have had fibroids for eleven years. I am not suffering from any problems, apart from being bloated and looking as if I am six months pregnant, and putting on a stone in weight in a very short period of time.
I do not want surgery but would like to find some sort of medication that would shrink my fibroids, as I was lead by the medical profession that the answer to my problem would be to have my womb removed.
