Uterine Surgery… serious only please!?

Has anyone ever had uterine ablasian (SP?) surgery (where they remove the lining of your uterous by burning it off, also called the NOVASURE proceidure)? I am having it, along with getting my tubes tied, on Tuesday because I have Fibroid Tumors with heavy bleeding. I want to know from REAL people who have had it done what to expect durring the recovery period.

Hi
I am scheduled to have myomectomy(Laparoscopic) in 2 days, for removal of a 8cm fibroid, spanning the walls of the uterus, but I started spotting today..will they still do the surgery?Long ago when I asked this question, the nurse was very vague about the answer..she just said it depends on the stage of the cycle..Dr.s office is closed for the next 2 days..can anyone please answer?

where can i find info about fibro adenoma?

I have this disease since I was in high school and have had two surgeries to remove the fibroid adenomas but they continue to come back so I want to learn as much as I can as far as self education about the causes and if it can lead to breast cancer. Just wondered if any one else has experienced this and knows anything about it? Anything will be appreciated! Thanks!

Is my uterine fibroid causing incontinence?

I am 53 years old and I have a large "atypical fibroid" in my uterus. The MRI’s show that it is growing and has "suspicious areas". My gynecologist wants it removed, so she sent me to a Gynecological Oncologist for the surgery because of its size. I can no longer control my bladder, have severe bleeding and clotting during my period, and chunks of stretchy, sticky tissue coming out of my vagina. The oncologist says I am at too high of a risk for an abdominal hysterctomy because I had a heart attack 2 years ago (my cardiologist has cleared me for the surgery), and because of the drugs I take for my rheumatoid arthritis. He doesn’t believed that this tumor is causing my urinary issues, etc. and that there are chunks coming out of me.

I have been in the ER a few times because of the bleeding and other issues, and every time the doctors and nurses tell me it needs to come out. I am tired of living this way, but this doctor is one of the best in his field. I am afraid it might already be cancerous or may become that way, as are all the other healthcare professionals I have talked to. Any advice about this would be greatly appreciated.

I have a uterine fibroid that showed up on an ultrasound before I got health insurance. The doctor has put me on lupron shots to shrink the fibroid and they’ve been paying for my treatments, but refuse to pay for my surgery. Is it possible that the insurance company will pay if it’s a medical necessity? Thanks

Is there a medical name for this?

I have had a non-cancerous lump removed from my right breast, fibroid removal, one thyroid goiter removal on the left of my neck with another planned for the right (entire thyroid will have to be removed), lumps growing under my skin in legs…can/are all the growths in my body a related illness? I am trying to be preemptive before another lump pops up that is not benign. The doctor’s are trying to figure it out but they have no reasons why. Thanks for taking your time to respond.

Is surgery reliable and will I be able to conceive after surgery?

I have fibroid, what to do?

My oby-gyne called me today and told me that I have a 6cm fibroid. I was terrified when she said that I have to have this removed. Is there anyone here that can give me some advice? I read some articles that there are medicines out there that a woman can take to shrink these type of growths, I mention it to her, but she said mine is kind of big and medicine or pill won’t work. Was she being honest, or maybe she just wants to have another patient for surgery. She’s my new oby-gyne, I switched because my old doctor moved. I’m willing to have the surgery if this is the best way to get rid of it.
Also, I have a constant pelvic pain, specially everytime I do some type of movement that requires bending…

I am 25 and suffering from what is called "fibroid tumors" its caused several problems for me in my life one being unable to have children, being hospitilized many times for anemia and other problems steming from the tumors. My problem is I have no medical insurance, and live in a new town and no one will see me unless I pay a huge co-pay…I can’t afford it, I can’t work..I’m tired, weak and sick.. I really need to have the surgery done and have no where to go and nothing to help me out..I was just wondering if there was anyone out here that knew of some kind of assistance I could receive or sign up for or anything to be able to have the surgery I desperately need to save my life! Thank you all…
