Fibroids Treatment Archives

(Using Husband’s account) I have been on birth control ever since my period first started as a teen, which also started a bit late, to control a hormone imbalance. I have recently moved to a higher medication due to fibroids. However, for the first time my husband has expressed interest in possibly having a child. Does anyone happen to know if there is a treatment or pill that would deliver the same amount of hormones as the birth control pills without affecting fertility?

Is this treatment for this paticular condition?

Is this something like cancer or it is cancer or early stages of cancer.

Does this hitopathology report sings of cancer or not cancer?

Question About Chronic Anaemia.?

Does anyone have any ideas of what might cause chronic anemia? I have hypothyroidism and am on hormone replacement therapy. I have been under treatment sporadically for anemia since I was about 7, and I’m 35 now. It seems like I become anemic every time I stop taking iron supplements. It’s as if my body lacks the ability to store iron. Could my history of anemia be related to my current situation? My doctor is sending me for an ultra sound to see if the cause could be fibroids, but I’m doubtful because I’ve had this since before I began menstruating. I also doubt it is dietary, because I eat red meat 7 days a week. I’ve been tested for just about everything from lupus to pernicious anemia, and nothing has turned up. I’ve tried researching articles, but there isn’t anything on childhood anemia that doesn’t eventually clear up. The only time I’m not anemic is when I’ve taken high doses of iron supplements, but this only helps for a month or two, then I’m anemic again.

enlarged cervix?

I had a colposcopy done Wed. She removed a couple of polyps and mentioned cysts. She said my cervix is enlarged and she’s not sure why. She took a couple of biopsies, we’ll get the results next week but she doesn’t think I have cancer. Last pap was normal and negative for HPV. Has anyone else been told their cervix was enlarged and was there any treatment? She said it could be from the cysts or from fibroids or maybe another thing or two and I might need to have a D&C. I had one after a miscarriage so I know what it is. I’m just wondering what other people have had done.

Hello, I am Jami. I am 20 years old. I have been lookign for answers for 5 years reguarding multiple health issues. I have seen over 10 doctors in 5 years for answers pluss ER doctors. About every 6 mo. since I have had Cryotheropy treatment as well as been diagnosed with Cycts/fibroids/tumores (over 20 at any given time) on my ovaries thus far that has been seen, about every 6 or so months am getting a very white discharge followed by a bloody milky discahrge ( as if you mixed the white stuff with blood extremely well) followed by flesh folling out of me.. The flesh lasts about 7 days then goes away. I have seeked medical attention multiple times usually the same results occurs.. I tell them it’s flesh.. they tell me, I don’t think it’s flesh, probably something that looks like it.. followed by a sample followed by them telling me yes it’s flesh.. I beg for answers, why how where is it comming from.. and folled with no answers and take this magic bottle of pills, if it doens’t go away in a week come back.. however I know it will go away but then return so I don’t take it.. I took it once and it’s the same as if I take it.. the medication is always an antibiotic with some sort of pain drug that does nohtign but make me inmobile altogether so I don’t take them… I looked and have only found one forum where other wemon had it, but no explanation or results.. any ideas anyone?
this was the only link I found where anyone had my issue…

about 2 months ago i have 4 fibroids i was put on a herbal treatment for a month. i finished the medication now my periods are on time. ive been having unprotected sex with my long term bf. he doesn’t really ejaculate. my last pd was 12/11. but it was really light and only lated about 3 days. with me previous it was heavy and lasted 5 days. i’ve also been urinating a lot. it could be up to 3 times in one night. has this happened to anyone and they later found out they are prego?

Hi
We have been TTC for a year now and went for first appt at the hospital yesterday (I am 33, DH is 37, SA and bloods came back fine).
The doc took notes on our history and then I had an internal scan and had to leave a urine sample.

When they were doing the internal scan, the nurse was pointing something out to the doc and they were talking really quietly. They think that there may be a fibroid and so I have to go back for a pelvic ultrasound in a few weeks (they have also booked me in for a HSG).

I am currently on 8 dpo and was wondering whether anyone else had been in this situation and
(i) is there any chance I am pregnant and that was what they could see?
(ii) could it be nothing? They said the next scan would confirm it so does this mean it could just have been an error?
(iii) has anyone successfully conceived with fibroids or do they need treatment? Is this why its taking so long to conceive?

Many thanks for any replies

xx

I went to the doctor for irregular period and was sent for an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed complex cysts in both ovaries. There are no secondary signs of cancer such as ascites, lymph involvement, metastaes, but my doctor began saying "We assume it is cancer – you need to prepare for surgery and chemo."

Off to the gynacologist she recommended and this guy says – it is a 15% chance it is ovarian cancer, and if it is we will perform a total hysterectomy. If it is NOT cancer…. we will perform a total hysterectomy. Now I found this disconcerting. I asked – why would you take both ovaries? His answer – because they might become cancerous. So why take the uterus? "Because that is what we do – we call it a total clean out."

In the mean time, I consulted with the HERS Foundation and they went over my radiological reports and said that there were no signs that would indicate cancer. In fact, they said that the radiological reports were insufficient and needed to be redone – essential information is missing and some information just makes no sense (suspected findings – do you see them or not? That is the only question you are being asked radiology man!) They suggested I seek out an obgyn who would perform a cystectomy.

So here is my conundrum – two radically divergent opinions. I do not feel comfortable with a plan to remove a healthy organ (my uterus, which I have grown attached to!!) because that is "what they do." In general, I feel as though this guy just wants to perform a hysterectomy regardless and I know it is not necessary if there is no cancer. On the other hand, I don’t want to delay and start the process over for fear that if it is cancer it might progress leading to the loss of my reproductive organs and all other signs of life.

Has anyone sought a more conservative physician for the treatment of cysts or fibroids? Is there any good way to expedite the process on the chance that the clock is ticking? I am in central Ohio if anyone knows of a good surgeon who isn’t slice-happy.

Thanks for your time!
To clarify, I have had two radiologists look at my film, both of whom said that they saw nothing in the CT or sonogram to suggest cancer – none of the expected characteristics are there and some things that are there counter-indicate cancer. I understand that were the biopsy to come back, everything would have to come out, however if it is negative, there is no reason to remove healthy organs because "that’s what we do." The gynecologist I was sent to is a one trick pony who removes all of the reproductive organs for cysts, fibroids etc.

My question is how to expedite finding a gynecological surgeon who will NOT mutilate me if it is not cancer.
