What are the symptoms of uterine fibroids? How about the treatment of uterine fibroids?

How to treat uterine fibroids except hysterectomy? I have been diagnosed by uterine fibroids and my doctor told me that I should cure it by hysterectomy. I don’t like this way. Who can tell me some other ways about the treatment of uterine fibroids?

For eight months starting two weeks after I lost my virginity, I have been having intense vaginal itching. It was first diagnosed as a yeast infection and it seemed to respond to treatment. My partner was treated too. But then, it seemed like every time we had sex it would recur. We changed condoms, lubes and eventually we abstained from sex altogether. (no sex in five months)
I have been treated for BV, yeast infections but all my swabs despite the fact the itching persists come back clear.
I have been tested for every STD under the sun, and so as he, but they were all okay (the last STD testing batch was done in October, nine months after the one time we had unprotected sex – so I am pretty confident with the results)
I was tested for diabetes.
There has of late been anal itching as well and my doctor treated me for parasites to no avail.
I have had a papsmear that was normal and a transvaginal ultrasound which showed cysts and fibroids but they cannot be correlated to the itch.
There was also thick, white discharge which smelled fishy but my doctor says that that is just coincidental as the swabs came back alright.
Does anyone know what this could be?
I have done all the normal stuff, stop using scented soaps – tampons, wear cotton undies. I don’t know what else to do.

Ive been having heavy periods and heartburn for awhile so my doctor sent me for an ultrasound which I’ve just come back from, the radiologist found a large fibroid pressing on my bladder and a large ovarian cyst on my left cyst, she said the cyst looks like it may be bleeding into itself and it was echoing back showing matter inside it,i’m really worried now, about the fibroid and the cyst and what treatment will be needed, my mum had a hysterectomy at 42 for fibroids and I’m 39 is it likely I will be the sane way, also I’m petrified of cancer too, can anyone who has had either fibroids or cysts offer some advice.

My symptoms: lots of pain during intercourse, very heavy bleeding during periods, pelvic pressure/pain, frequent urination and it’s like I’ve been holding it forever…there’s no way I would be able to hold it any longer when I have to go. I’m making an appointment with my doctor for next week. Just wanted other opinions. If so what are all the treatments because I’m really afraid that if it’s too bad I will have to get a hysterectomy and I do not want that because I’m not done having children.

Also my periods are usually always right on target but I’ve been having these problems since July, they are just getting worse and the past 3 months I’ve either started a week early or a week late except this month only a day early.

We’re not completely sure yet, she has had lots of pain in her right abdomen area…and after getting an MRI scan, they said she has some fibroids in that area and that there might be some cancer-cells underneath, so it will take them another 2-3 weeks to really confirm whether yes or no…I just want some advice during this complicated time because 2-3 weeks feels like forever at this moment. She has already undergone surgery to remove some cysts from inside her uterus by the way.
"CHIEF" Thank you for the reassurance. I know she has a family history of cysts, like her aunts and stuff. And i know she has had benign cysts before and they were removed. I just don’t know…when they said there were fibroids on her right abdomen and POSSIBLY some cancer cells underneath…but even with cancer if it’s caught early on, there should be enough ways to get rid of it…i figure…??

I asked this in a general health group on here, but I also wanted a broader opinion by placing it here in the women health section…since it is about my girlfriend.

"FeeVerte" Thank you very much for your kind words and advice. The waiting really is the hardest part…I even got mad that we need to wait 2-3 more weeks…and if it IS cancer, then what…we’re giving it 2-3 weeks to get even worse??!! God I just pray it is a mis-diagnosis.
