Fibroids Uterine Archives

irregular period. So, I went to my OB, and she said she thought I had Fibroid Cysts, however every time I try to find information on it, it just leads to hysterectomy.
Does anyone have any knowledge of this condition ie, symptoms, causes, I am having an ultrasound next week, what will that entail, and finally, should it turn out to be what she thinks it is, is the course of action a hysterectomy? It’s ok, b/c I don’t think I could adequately care for a baby being disabled. However, I am in the dark on this one. If you can help I would sincerely appreciate it.
thanks to you,
Sorry, I don’t think I made that clear….I am disabled b/c I have damage to my rt frontal lobe of my brain and also broken facets in my neck from C1-C4 and cyrvical dystonia, not from this condition that I just found out about. I know that you do not become disabled from a hysterectomy.
Thanks for leading me to clarify

please i need a answer?

i get this "pressure" and "knot ball" of pressure and pain sometimes in my left pelvic region but mostly in the right pelvic region. i also get pressure on my bladder, so when i go pee after it feels like i have air in my bladder or pelvic region. now these pressure balls in pelvic regions literally fel tlike a ball! i would push on them hard to relieve pain thinking it’s gas but that never helps. and this discomfort can last for hours even days… and when it starts to leave i stay bruised. what can be causing this? i have a feeling it might be Uterine fibroid tumors i don’t know… but i know awhile back they found a cyst like thing in my cervix and in my fallopian tubes i think… please help me out i don’t have insurance :/

PLEASE BE HONEST!

I know none of you are doctors but I would just like to get an honest opinion about my good friend. She is 41 yrs. old and already has a 21 yr. old daughter. In the past 2 yrs she has suffered 2 miscarriages (the last one being this march). She is pregnant once again and is happy but also very scared! The doctor has her at high risk, just wanted to know if you honestly think she will have a baby this time or another miscarriage.

(FYI: She had her hormone levels tested and they came back fine but she has 2 cysts, fibroids, and was a smoker up until last weeek that she found out she was pregnant. The father is 40 yrs. old and also a smoker and she says she feels some localized cramping that comes and goes and nagging lower back pain. Her previous miscarriages started when she went to the doctor to check to HCG levels in her blood, and the levels would stop increasing.)
Right now she’s only about 5 and 1/2 weeks

Hysterectomy at 27 — too young?

Here is my situation;

I am 27 year old female with a long history of menstrual problems. First I have never had normal cycles – at the age of 14 I was put on birth control pills to help with that issue. By age 18 I had a crazy large ovarian cyst on my right ovary requiring an emergency surgery to drain the grapefruit size growth that twisted around my tube and attached to the out side of my uterus. At the age of 20 and many painful cyst later they had to remove my ovary and tube (it was more risk to keep it in) Fast forward to today – two children later – The Dr and I were hoping that after childbirth my body would go back to normal. It has not. Each month it gets a little worse… Most recent Started my period November 24 very heavy flow with clots (2 the size of a ping pong ball ) bled until December 10th. Started again December 12th with another blood clot the size of about a ping pong ball – the bleeding and pain and pressure is so bad – it hurts to urinate or have a bowel movement. Even to just walk – the pain, bleeding is getting out of control.

After going to the Dr today her is what we know…
When I was very young about 18 I was told I have endometriosis
I might have fibroids he will do an ultrasound December 27 to check…

After that he is going to do a therapeutic D & C to give my body a “fresh” start…. He was asking questions are my husband and I done with kids ect.. I wonder if they will just do a hysterectomy or because of my age they will wait…

Does it sound like I need a hysterectomy or does it sound like I can wait?????

no idea what could be wrong?

i am in bad pain. Every night im nauseous, and I used to ave period like cramps with no bleeding. now that’s turned into sharp, stabbing pain in my lower left pelvic area. I had an ultrasound and I was told that I have no cysts, no fibroids, but they couldn’t locate my uterine lining. At first I was worried that I may be pregnant but my doctor didn’t mention anything about seeing a pregnancy…

but my pain is etting more and more unbearable and idk whats wrong and what to do

all hpts have been negative

fibroid tumors on the breast?

how do i prevent the pain and swelling every month caused by the fibroid tumors

..a menstrual cycle I bled immensely. I bled so much I almost became anemic. I knew something was wrong. After having a pelvic exam I was diagnosed with having fibroid tumors (2 small ones) in my uterus. So my doctor put me on the pill for 3months to slow down the bleeding and unbearable cramps. During those 3 months everything was perfect. Now this is my first cycle off the pill and I feel sick to my stomach. I bled so much that while in the movie theatre I bled through my underwear and jeans. It really scared me because this had never happened to me. I had never seen that much blood. I don’t want to live the rest of my life on birth controls because I want more children so what should I do? What other options are there so I can have more children later…and if I have surgery what are my chances of having a child later? SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY! Thank You
I experienced a slight burning sensation in my uterus…has anyone ever experience this?
I need more answers please

I found out through an MRI, that I have a complete bicornuate uterus and an uterine fibroid. I have had PCOS for over a year.

I am only 21 years old, and the doctor says fibroids at my young age is a concern. Does anyone else have this problem? Could I still have children?

I know with the bicornuate uterus, I am a greater risk of miscarriages and preterm delivery. Will the fibroid make it even more difficult since I have the bicornuate uterus?

If I had just the bicornuate (no fibroid), then i would just be greater risk for miscarriages and preterm delievery. If I just had a fibroid (no uterine abnormality), I could still concieve but would still be a slightly greater risk of miscarriage and preterm delievery (not as greater risk as bicornuate uterus) problem according to doc (PCOS would be the only problem). So, since I have both, is my chances even less?
Doc says she cant be sure because she has never encountered a patient with all of these problems at once (she has had many, many patients, but none with bicornuate uterus, not too many with fibroids AND PCOS, usually her patients have only one or the other).
Please, any advice or stories?

Here is a link in regards to Complete Bicornuate uterus (V-shaped, not heart shaped as in the partial bbicornuate), and another link to PCOS just incase you dont know what it is.

On the PCOS, many get it from being overweight, however, my doc says I am pretty average weight. I am adopted, so I dont know my medical background (inheritance), nor does my adoptive mom.

Thanks

I am going to have my 3rd mammogram in less than 12 months. I’ve been told that I have a benign lymph node in my left breast but that I need to repeat mammograms every 6 months. I got this information from the hospital where the mammography took place (they mailed me a letter) but have not been told by a doctor. This all started because I have a history of fibroid cysts and had to have my first mammogram at 26. I had another one at 35 and 40. I just recently turned 41 and am going for my 6 month check up. I am wondering if I should make an appointment with my gynocologist about this since she was the one who intitially referred me for the 40 year mammography check up in the first place. If not her, then what kind of doctor should I or do I see? Can a benign lymph node turn eventually become cancerous? I’m getting a little nervous and frustrated.
A biopsy has not been performed. The hospital that did my mammogram in Michigan 5-6 years ago can’t locate my films. I had a mammogram the 3rd week of March and another one the 1st week in April. Both were done through digital mammography. I am having the 3rd mammogram in October and have been told that an ultra sound will be done at that time.

First off I want to say I’m 22 and I know my body fairly well normally. That being said for the past few months I’ve been having these odd sharp cramps sort of like menstrual cramps (which I get very painfully) but I can be weeks away from my period when I get them. Sometimes these cramps will be in my lower abdomen, sometimes in the same area as menstrual cramps and sometimes shooting up the vagina it seems. A few times I’ve been walking and had to stop and wait for the cramp to pass or pull over when driving if it’s really intense. They last anywhere from 20 seconds to a bunch at once for about 10 minutes.
Any advice on this?
I’ll be seeing a doctor soon for a pap test.
In my family there is history of:
cervical cancer (mother)
fibroid tumors (mother and grandmother)
endometriosis (mother and possibly grandmother not sure)
diabetes (Uncle (dads side) and Grandmother)

thank you for answering.
