Fibroids Uterine Archives

I feel dumb asking this. Am I being stupid?

I will give a little explanation. I am at a slight high risk for my pregnancy due to uterine fibroids and stage 3 endometriosis. My doctor told me I should not have even been able to carry this pregnancy. I am 27w1d. So, due to the endometriosis and fibroids, I’m at a slightly higher risk for preterm labour.

My daughter was born full-term at 39w5d. The night prior to her birth, her dad’s band played a local show. Nothing we had tried over the two weeks prior to her birth had worked to get her to come out, not even a car accident (we did not cause this). So, it was suprising when she was born the day after this show. We like to joke that she came out to tell her Dad to turn the volume down.

On October 27th, I’ll be going to see my favourite band play live. I will be 33 weeks pregnant. Because my daughter came the day after we went to a show, and because I’m at a higher risk for preterm labour, I’m scared my son is going to be born the day after the show.

Am I just being overly hormonal and silly?

I got fibroid in uterus that measures 3.5cm. Luckly don’t have any other problem i.e infertility etc. I conceived once, that was last year, but unfortunately miscarried.
Can i still conceive? with such a big fibroid that has taken almost all the space in my uterus.
I am already 34 and dying for baby. we are trying since last 3years. Can’t express in words, how i feel. world seems to an end for me.
Is there anybody who has any experience or any informaion about this.

Thanks a lot.

Hysterectomy & fear of hospital!?

my hysterectomy because of fibroids and andemyosis in on 3rd of may and i’m really stressing out. I’ve only my fiance here with me for support as all my family are overseas. I’ve never stayed in hospital… How do i prepare myself! what support do i need around the house as well as emotionally?

In 2007 I was told after an Ultrasound that I had a small intramural fibroid in my uterus and to just follow up in a year. I was really skeptical and asked my normal doctor and she said to make sure I stayed on birth control. I now, after doing my own research, realize she was wrong b/c that only helps the fibroid to grow. In November of 2008 I went to a different doctor and she said it is really uncommon for someone my age and of my health to develop fibroids, especially because I haven’t had any children or been pregnant. Upon another ultrasound I found out it grew 14% in the past year and is now appx. 2×2x2 cm. I have also gained a LOT of weight, though my lifestyle is quite healthy and full of exercise. My gynecologist said it very well may be due to the fibroid. My questions are (sorry it took so long, I just wanted to provide a lot of detail): is weight gain normal, should I get it removed (I realize that no one can really say for sure except my doc and surgeon on this), and what are the chances of me being able to get pregnant with the fibroid. I should also note that I was told that before I can get pregnant I’ll have to get it removed anyway because it’s position may very well keep me from getting pregnant. Finally, I should also disclose that I have extreme pain at times from the fibroid that I don’t want to elaborate on in here. I’m just hoping someone can give me a little more info about fibroids than I’ve found in my own research.

I got on the Mirena on July 28, 2008 at the VA Hospital in Atlanta, GA after having my third child in May of 2008. In Nov of 08, I went back to my GYN to make sure the IUD was still in me because I no longer felt my strings. My GYN and a student resident did an ultrasound and stated that it was still in from the ultrasound. I stop having menstrual cycles in December of 08, which led me to believe that the device was still in and working due to not having periods as my doctor told me some women may experience. Well in Feb of 09 I started to have abdominal pains on my left side… I thought that maybe I had uterine fibroids because my mother had just had surgery in 08 for fibroids. I made an appointment to see my GYN again pertaining to the pain and explain that I had the IUD they schedule me to get a pregnancy test in March and schedule my actual appointment with my GYN in April… My March blood pregnancy test came out negative so it was a relief to me due to the fact that they were telling me that I may have become pregnant in my tubes… When I went to see my GYN in April, I explain to her the type of pain I was having, and she order a stats on the urine test for pregnancy which came back positive, then she did an ultrasound to verify with an additional order for me to go to another hospital to get a detail ultrasound to locate where the baby was at… In the process she stated they couldn’t find my IUD, or could the other hospital that she asked me to go to… When I start going to my regular OB doctors; they did their normal routine check on me and schedule my first ultrasound with the hospital I plain to have my baby at. My first ultrasound was in May of this year which the results stated I had got pregnant in March which pregnancy test came back negative, and that the IUD was still in me and located in my cervix. My OB doctors made two attempts to remove the IUD for the safety of my baby and they stated that by the IUD still being in me that it put me at an even higher risk of loosing my baby. I tried to stay calm until I found out I was having another chance a baby girl. Had an abnormal AFP test which I ended up doing an amino test, and then a week later I lost my baby found out that my baby was going to be a normal baby, and that due to the fact that I was able to still carry her a week after having the amino ruled out that the amino chances of causing me to miscarry… Due to the fact that I have not seen the IUD fall out or know what it looks like I am wondering if one was it inserted wrong from the beginning, two did it fall out, three is it the cause of me loosing my baby, and four do I really have a chance at suing the company and the VA or both, and could it still be in to keep causing some of the pains I was experiencing before I found out I was pregnant…?

Can fibroids keep you from having children?

I want someone who has actually gone through this to answer. If you have had fibroids and had a successful pregnancy and healthy baby or if your are having trouble getting pregnant. I’ve just discovered that I have 3 fibroids in my uterine walls and one outside the uterus. I don’t want to miss out on having my own babies and I’m scared that this may ruin my chances of ever experiencing that. So your answers are very much appreciated .

I had a partial hysterectomy at the age of 28 for fibroid tumors. I already had 4 kids, and had been suffering for a couple of years. I turned 40 just 2 months ago, and have been having hot flashes for about 6 weeks, is it menopause or something else? We don’t have medical insurance, so going to the doctor to run the normal test for menopause is not an option.

Treatment for Uterine Fibroids?

How to treat uterine fibroids? Who has any useful treatment for uterine fibroids? I need help!

I am 25 years always been healthy never any health issues until last year. In March of last year i decided to get off of birth control pills in Feb. i got off the pill and i never recieve a period for about 4 months. After several pregnancy tests resulting negative they gyno decieded to put me back on birth control to regulate my period. My periods have since then been somewhat normal. But a few months ago i started getting pelvic pain, swollen stomach. Dr. just told me i have a dermoid cyst on my right ovary thats about an inch. And a fibroid tumor on my uterus.
