I have a fibroid tumor in my uterus that is just growing and growing. It looks as if I am pregnant and it is a complete embarassment. I am not pregnant and I have to try to "hide" my stomach so that people will not stare at it. Justt the other day I had to buy a size 14 dress so that my big belly wouldn’t be so noticeable.
My ob/gyn says that until it becomes a problem we should just leave it alone. It doesn’t hurt or anything it is just very unattractive.
Does anyone have any experience with these from just changing your diet and or taking pills to get them to shrink? I know about my medical options as far as removing my uterus and getting that other thing that cuts off the blood to them but I would like to try it the natural way first. Thanks in advance for all serious answers. Oh i’m 31 years old 5′7 140lbs never had a weight problem before.

I seem to be having a sharp pain on right side about 3x a month at different times and am concerned I might have a fibroid/cyst..or does this mean my right ovary is the one getting ready to ovulate?

She was in pain w/ fibroid tumors but they removed her uterus.
Now six months later she is in far worse pain, she was a size 6-8 now a size 14-16
Was always thin but her stomach is hard as a rock and she cant do anything.
She is getting worse by the week, is their anyone that had the same troubles?
We have had every test known done and the doctors are at a loss as to what is going on.

Inhave two fibriod tumors about the size of an orange. Very annoying as one is on my right hip and causes me a great deal of discomfort sleeping. Are these removable and how can I find a doctor to remove them. This one particular tumor seemed to develop in a matter of 4 days to a week.

My girlfriend was diagnosed with one. She is not having any problems with pain, bleeding etc. It was picked up when she had a Hysterosonography done (the test from Hell for sure!! very painful and very invasive.)
The ob/gyn Dr has referred her to a gyn-oncologist to have it removed. The Dr didn’t answer any of our questions, so needless to say we are both very frustated. We asked if it needed to be removed asap, or if it could wait. I know quite a few women that have fibroids that never have them removed, and never have any problems with them. The Dr said this was a "mass" in her uterus, I’m wondering if that means cancer?
God I hate Dr’s in Florida, they are the absolute WORST in the country. She has an appointment with a specialist for a consultation next week to see what’s going on, hopefull she’ll get some straight answers on what to do.
Opinions are welcome, especially from the medical profession.
one of the main questions we wanted to know is that IF it needs to be removed, can this type of surger be done under a local and not general anesthsia? Like an epidural?
PS the doctor "dismissed" us both as patients because we calmly asked a few questions about this and what the options are. We were told to seek healthcare elsewhere. I guess that’s telling us, "if you question my authority or take up too much of my time, you’re outta here…" Gotta love the medical profession………..NOT
