Have any of you that have adopted, even if you’ve gone through infertility, felt like you still wanted to try for a biological child after you adopted?
I am 33 and have had at least 5 miscarriages due to fibroids in my uterus (getting pregnant isn’t the problem, obviously haha…but carrying to term is *sigh*)…but sometimes, I still long to experience the birth process…as well as give our 2 children (full brother and sister) we adopted last year a younger sibling.
Am I the only one to feel this way?
Blue R, thank you and congratulations.
My fibroids are so large I would have to have a myomyectomy, which as I’m sure you know, is being cut open as if you’re having a hysterectomy…so I’m trying to hold off any surgical intervention as long as I can.

Hey everyone. I hope there is someone who knows about this that can help. Basically.. My sister (30) had Fibroids in her Uterus that were malignant (Leiomyosarcoma) I believe is what they called it. Her doc did a DNC and Hysterscopy and removed 4 Fibroids and 3 of them were Malignant. The doc basically told her now she needs to treat the area where she removed the fibroids to try to prevent them from coming back. She sat with her Gyn and a oncologist who gave her the option of a COMPLETE hysterectomy or freezing the uterus( which I believe is called Cryosurgery). They were not much help. Told her to research and call the office to make an appointment when she makes up her mind on what she wants to do.
Her main fear of a complete hysterectomy is going through menopause so early or having to go on hormone therapy, which she really doesn’t want..
Anyone have any suggestions or been through this or am I luck enough to find a Doctor or nurse who knows more about this stuff..
Anyone can give me some pro’s and con’s or speak from experience It would be greatly appreciated!!
I have looked online and I find sites that don;t really give you much help! Just explain what it is!
PLEASE HELP!!
Thanks much!
Thanks.. they say that the malignant fbroids that they did remove were too close to her Fallopian tubes so they want to remove her ovaries too.
can anyone tell me alittle about the side effects if she does get the Hysterectomy..as in hormone therapy.. they did say she will have to be on hormones.. she is concerned about growing a beard…I know not funny but..lol…just sounds weird…

About 30 mins after sex, I had sharp pains in my lower right side. Now, 5 days later, I’m having lower back crampiness & some mild aching/discomfort in the pelvic area. I often can feel pain when I ovulate, but I also have a very small (about 9mm) fibroid. Advil is helping some… Is this ovulation, my fibroid or what? When I was pregnant over 10 years ago, I thought it was just PMS — my symptoms like to pretend they’re something else…

Okay, here is the story.
I found a lump in my right breast about 3 weeks ago which I kept from my doctor. Well, I finally went to the doctor. The doctor felt it and told me that she wants to get a sonogram done just to make sure. She also said positivity that is it most likely Fibroid Breast disease. My family history is crazy on this. My grandmother, great aunts, aunts, mother have had them. My great aunts died from breast cancer. I have also had fibroid tumors on my brain. What I want to know is after my sonogram if the doctor wants to do a biopsy can I tell the doctor that I don’t want a biopsy I just want to removed? The reasons why is because I’m in so much pain, don’t feel good in a bra. Can I say that I want it removed rather than messing with all the tests? (My aunt and grandmother, had all of theres removed because of pain and other common reasons such as mine.
Please let me know.

I am 33, and I do have PCOS and Fibroid tumors.
With the exception of horrible menstrual cramps and miscarriages, my cycles have been normal and like clockwork.
I should have my period by now…but this time, I’m getting dark brown blood, just lightly when I wipe…and a small amount of pinkish colored blood.
I also am having dark brown "threads" like you’d see with the small clots, but they’re dark brown (like the old blood at the end of the period) rather than red.
I have had a few small twinges of pain around my right ovary, like ovulation, but I’m due for my period.
If this continues, obviously I’ll go to my doctor, but I just wondered if anyone else had any experience like this…I really don’t believe I could be pregnant, unless ovluation was sooner or later than normal…so I’m just stumped…thanks!

I have had so many symptoms of pregnancy missed period, nauseous, very moody, changes in my breast, the next months bleeding, i had a pinkish blood and i only spotted for a few days. my stomach feel bigger too. I told my doctor all this he did a blood test and it came back negative. He had me take a mammogram anyway knowing i could be pregnant. I also have large fibroid tumors. If i am, will the large fibroid tumors protect the baby from radiation? My first child i had i never found out till i was 3 and half months pregnant with him. All the test i would have with my son came back negative just like this one. Please can someone help me? I’m so worried!!!
I for got something i think I’m eight weeks far along I had sex DEC 7th of 2008.
Sunshine how far along were you? Your answer makes me feel better.
I had sex on DEC 7th my period was due DEC 18th through 20th missed my period for DEC. In Jan on the 17th my first bleeding was pinkish color. I only spotted for a few days. I did tell my Doctor about my first child my son all my symptoms and how my test would come back negative for months.

The Dr said at the end of the appt that I have a "ball" in my uterus and it is nothing to worry about, that 40-50% of all women that this. The thing is, I am in France and even though he spoke excellent English he couldn’t think of the word for this ball that in French starts with an "m". He insists it is nothing to worry about so I’m not at all, just curious what it is really called? Not fibroid, not cyst (I asked him all those, he said no), he just kept saying it was "a ball". I didn’t see it on the ultra sound and he didn’t point it out, so it must be something only he would know to look for. If anyone knows that would be great, thanks!
TOTALLY agree about things being different in another country. This is my first so I don’t have a lot to compare it to, but some things have me saying " I have to do what??", like going to a GP before I can see an OB to get a written proof of pregnancy, even though I already had an hour long ultra sound…. confusing

I started my period on July 19th and received the Depo shot on July 22nd which was in a 5 day time frame. My doctor said I needed backup birth control for 2 weeks. Their website says I should have protection from pregnancy immediately based on when I received the shot. Should I use backup BC anyway to be on the safe side?
Also, I’ve been bleeding non-stop since July 19th. Is it normal to be bleeding this much? My doctor said I would have some spotting between the time of the 1st injection to the 2nd but I’m not sure if it’s normal to have a flow like a regular period for almost a week, though.
I also have uterine fibroids so I don’t know if they are contributing to the constant bleeding.
Can anyone provide me any information on these questions?
I already have an appt with my doctor again this coming Friday but just looking for information in the meantime. Thank you.
Mia: Was that the entire time you were on Depo or just after your first shot?

Hello,
I recently found out I am pregnant – the 7 home test sticks say so. Because I spotted (brown) at the time when my period would normally come, the doctor sent me for a vaginal ultrasound 2 days ago.
When they did it, I was only 4 weeks 6 days. The sonographer could not see any evidence of a ‘gestional sac’. She said this is normal because it’s quite early.
Is this right?
They took some blood from me that day and again today so they can check changes in my HCGs to determine whether I am having a normal pregnancy or if the spotting is a sign of a problem.
My question is: how early can a vaginal ultrasound successfully show the gestational sac? Is it around 6-7 weeks?
Also, the ultrasound did show that I have four firbroids on my uterus. The sonographer said they are nothing to worry about because they are on the outside of my uterus. However, the printed report says one of them is a pedunculated fibroid. This type sounds scary!

I just want opinions before I go to the doctor tomorrow. I am still somewhat lactating, the milk is slightly leaking, mostly at night. Today I noticed that one breast was painful to the touch and then I noticed a small lump in it. Could it just be a clogged milk duct? I have uterine fibroids, could that have anything to do with it?
This is kind of freaky. Please give me your opinion!
