Fibroids and pain??
For two years I have been having a sharp pain on my right side just above my hip bone. It happens when I stand up or walk. I have seen a chiropractor which assumed it was back pain. Then my family doctor sent for ultrasound and ct scan. Both showed no problem with any organs other than possible fibroid. Doc requested another ultrasound and said that fibroids would not cause that pain. But searching the net I found many women complaining about the same type of pain. Has anyone here experienced this. this is getting so frustrating. Some days I can not function. I can not walk more than 15 minutes without pain which is like a cramp.

I have many uterine fibroids but I don’t have any pain. I know that its common to have pain with fibroids but I’m fortunate and unfortunate at the same time that I don’t have any pain. Fortunate because I can do normal works without any problem. Unfortunate because as I didn’t have any pain , I didn’t notice my problem until I had heavy anemia.
Have you checked your ovaries?
If you are open to alternative medicine, your body can reabsorb fibroids by getting acupuncture treatments. My sister and I both had them and they were painful.
I gave the below answer to someone else with female problems. You can get yourself into a good acupuncturist and they will balance your body to restore your healthy function and your pain will subside. If they can not help you they will tell you. But it sounds like there is an imbalance. Here is some more information, you can take from it what you might use:
My sister and I both got treatments when she was scheduled for surgery. It took 3 months for them to reabsorb for her. One was the size of a grapefruit. She was scheduled for surgery too but never went in because her body reabsorbed them.
Mine were gone in 2 months for a total of 12 treatments.
Western medicine is backwards. They treat the symptom and not the problem. Her fibroids are caused by some imbalance in her body. Acupuncture can restore balance and normal function to the body. Surgery can cut them out but the problem will still be there in her body and can and will surface somewhere else later on. Her recovery time will not be just a few weeks, it can take over a year to feel anywhere near normal again. Sure, she will be able to walk and exercise but she will not have her health back. It will be a temporary fix.
My sisters first one was the size of a baby’s head which she had surgically removed at age 23. The second one came about 10 years later which she had acupuncture for. That was back in 1983. She has been fibroid free since and would not have surgery again to save her soul if one came back. She would go to an acupuncturist first like I did and avoid cutting and healing from surgery.
As long as these fibroids aren’t malignant, you can opt to not have your body cut up and have to take hormone replacement therapy. It sucks according to others I have known who have had this very invasive procedure done.
Find a good Chinese or oriental practitioner and get her healthy! A 5,000 year old system can’t be beat! That’s how long acupuncture has been around.
Western medicine – about 100 years. Who do you think knows about wellness? Acupuncture treats the cause not the symptom. And after the treatment you feel great and there is no healing process that is obvious outwardly. You should just stay out of the wind for the first day. Don’t know why. And there are no scars or drugs to take. No pain, no side effects except good health.
And if you are afraid of needles no worries, they are about the size of a human hair. They do not hurt and they do not go in far at all – 1/8" is the usual depth. I’d rather get 1,000 treatments than get one shot from a doctor or nurse.
oriental medicine is a good option however normally the underlying problem is estrogen dominance. Green tea helps also drinking only hot fluids prior to your menstruation is also helpful
