Fibroids the cause of my sudden infertility?
Hi eveyone.
I have been trying to get pregnant for over a year now. i just turned 24 2 months ago
I had a forced abortion at 17 and regret it ever since. So fastforward years later i have been experiencing painful periods and intercourse, spotting in between periods and everything. For the past year i have been in close contact with my GYN we have done tests like HSG,(which was good results) Ultrasound came back normal and recently had a sonogram and yesterday i was told they found a growth inside my uterus….she is having me come back in next week for a Laproscopy to see exactly where it is but she feels that it could be blocking the entrance to my cervix. which is why i feel the pain so close to my cervix at times. I assume that i am ovulating for the fact that my OPKs are positive every month but i know thats not certain. I also have regular periods every 26-27 days. I know that i should wait till next week but im just so nervous and upset about this fibroid…or growth that im anxious to know this…is there any ADVICE someone can give me in respect to fertility being affected by a growth in my uterus. Thanks so much

Yes, fibroids can cause temporary infertility. I’m so sorry to hear about your difficulties. To cure and prevent future fibroids I would definitely take the natural route. I developed a fibroid after taking clomid for a month. I had never had cysts or fibroids and my doctor told me it was most likely cause by clomid. Well, I wasn’t ovulating anymore so I seeked out an herbalist in area and he started me on the herb vitex which naturally balances the female hormones and helps produce progesterone. I agree with the answer on the progesterone cream and DIM.
I was put on a liquid herbal blend of vites, peony, black haw, and liqorice root. It worked like a charm! I finished one bottle and am happy to report I am two months pregnant with my second child!
I wish you the best of luck and please do as much research as you can before choosing the route to take. It can be very stressful and overwhelming to face these difficulties. It took me one month to conceive my first child yet nearly a year to conceive my second. My hormones were unbalanced, but now everything is back to normal thanks to taking specific herbs for my needs.
Hi there,
Im 20 and had a lap done in Aug 09, they removed cysts, endometriosis and found a large fibroid.
We have been ttc for almost 10 months with no luck..
I was told the positioning of the fibroid should not hinder our ttc..
Maybe talk to your GYN about fertility drugs?
I was told if nothing has happened by the 12 month mark that i would have the option of clomid..
Good luck with your lap!
I am sorry to hear that you have this common condition. There is hope in getting rid of fibroids.
The following herbs and supplements have been found to support the body in helping to clear out fibroids naturally. The herbs and supplements both help to balance hormones thus slowing fibroid growth and dissolving existing fibroids.
Natural Fibroid Remedies:
Progesterone Cream: Helps reduce fibroids and fibroid growth by balancing the excess estrogen (which makes the fibroids grow) with 40mg of natural progestrone treatment for 2-3 months on days 14 – 28 of the cycle (day 1 being the first day of your period). Natural progesterone is safe to take and is the same molecule that your body produces. Many of the synthetic estrogens and progestins are chemically modified from the natural molecule and are dangerous to use.
DIM: DIM balances the hormones by breaking down estrogen and removing it from the body. Estrogen is a major culprit to many of the fertility issues women face today especially fibroids, which is an estrogen dominant condition. By cleansing the body of excess estrogens should cause the fibroids to stop Ocurring.
Women’s Best Friend herbal blend: Women’s Best Friend takes down pain and swelling caused from Fibroids so you start feeling better right away. Women’s Best Friend goes to the source of the problem, helping to reduce excess estrogen that fuels abnormal growths, and stimulating liver activity for improved estrogen metabolism. It works with your body’s natural detoxification processes to clear congested endometrial tissues while reducing symptoms like abnormal bleeding.
Other natural therapies found to be of great benefit in reducing and dissolving Uterine Fibroids:
Self Fertility Massage combined with Castor Oil packs
Fertility Enzyme Therapy
I hope this helps you. Because your fibroid is by your cervix it may make it very difficult to conceive and if you do, depending where it is located (blocking your cervix) you may not be able to have a vaginal birth. Please work closely with your doctor.
Best Wishes,
Dalene
