health vs cosmetic, stomach surgery.?
i’ve had 3 surgeries on my belly, 1 as the result of a birth, 2 was fibroid removal and one was scared tissue. Since then my stomach has plopped down in my lap, literally, It looks like a map with the two scares, one bikini and the other up and down. My muscles have become relaxed, my back hurts all the time (I think, because of the gravity) I think the fibroids have returned…My stomach weighs about 20lbs along. I know that a lipo or a tummy tuck is considered cosmetic surgery, however, I know some surgeries are necessary and not considered cosmetic if and when there is a medical risk. Does anyone have any info on this. Cosmetic wise, it would make me look better but I think I have a medical issue. O, I am not that much over weight except for my stomach area. I’ve also tried diet and sit-ups, nothing works.

A HUGE difference on the urgeon you use. I have NEVER had cosmetic surgery-but I have had TWO hand surgeries and my doctor is one of the Most renowned Plastic Surgeons In La Jolla, Calif Soemtimes while I am waiting to see him, I will flip thru his Before & after book–his work is amazing. I did speak to him once about my under arms, I lost almost 200 lbs 25 years ago, and I hate the loose skin under my arms. I was an athlete until I lost 50% of my nerves in my hands….so my body is not bad for losing that much weight–of course I am the ONLY one who sees me naked. With any surgery there is RISK. thats why choosing the BEST surgeon makes a difference. My BFF had gastro bypass and lost 175 lbs and HAD to get a tummy tuck because the loose skin was hanging so low it was cauing her *&^%$ to be raw & rashed–so not having it wasn’t an option. Choose wisely. Cosmetic surgery for people like us is always an option….to not only make us look better but feel better about ourselves
First investigate the medical issues. Then discuss the problems you’re having with your back due to your stomach. Insurance often covers so-called cosmetic surgery if the doctor can provide medical reasons for it. Good luck.
