I had mayomactomy in 2005 to remove 28 fibroids. My scar is as big a c-section surgery, about 6 inches. I think as you have only 2 fibroids, you may have a smaller scar.
My sister had the same surgery, her scar is across her pubic bone, the same as for a caesarian. She now wishes she’de had a hysterectomy instead.
It depends on how they are going to do it which is usually determined by the size of the tumor (benign). They can do it vaginally, through abdominal incision (largest scar) or with laproscopy using microsurgical techniques (three small scars)..
The size of the scar should be about 10 to 15 cms (4-6 inches) across your lower belly (about an inch above your pubic bone) This depends on how easy the surgery is and the skill of the surgeon. The recovery is about 6 weeks in total but you will be on your feet in the first week if all goes well. Usually the scar heals well and can be almost invisible once healed. Before the surgery, ask your doctor where he plans to cut and how easily he expects the surgery to go.
