Hysterectomy because of fibroids?
I’m having a hysterectomy as i have 3 large fibroids and my iron level is less than 1. I cannot function properly anymore. i am in severe pain and bleeding a lot. I cannot work for a whole day and its affecting my life with my fiance, friends and family. I do not want kids so I’ve no doubt about the hystecrectomy but I’m concern people will see me less of a woman
Your iron level is meant to be 15! The max i’ve manage to get mine to is 5
I am 27 years old

I had a hysterectomy when I was 28 for the same reason and I have never regretted it. You will feel soooo much better and no one will think you are less of a woman…trust me!
Your life will change for the better….
BTW how old are you?
Don’t think that way. One of my best friends was 23 when she had hers done and she wanted children, so they adopted. It’s an operation, a medical procedure that you need, it doesn’t define you at all. You’re a woman no matter what. I know another one who had it done who is a bit older and she didn’t want kids either. She looks great, travels a lot and nobody has to be involved in that anyway. Good luck to you and get that silly idea out of your mind.
What is your iron level suppose to be?
email me and let me know
Also it sould not make you less of a women since it is only taking out parts that carry children
the vagina stays the same
i hope the doctor gave you a trial run on hormones to make sure you can take them after wards.Take it from me the hot flashes arent too fun. However other women have told me they hardly ever have hot flashes
Guess it depends on the women
God Bless and good luck
You aren’t less of a woman. I have a friend who has fibriods, no kids. She looks 7 months pregnant. Because the fibroids aren’t bothering her yet, she doen’t want to have the surgery. If you are in pain and are bleeding alot, definitely have it done. I would! You have a serious condition that needs surgery. Have you looked into just having the fibroids removed and no hysterectomy? If the doctor suggested a hysterectomy then I would go for it after getting a 2nd opinion first.
I had a hysterectomy at 28 when my son was 5 and a half months old. I have never once regretted it. How will people know you have had it done unless you tell them? A uterus is not what makes you a woman. Think of the pluses…no more pain, no more periods, saving money on tampons etc. I wish you the best of luck.
I can understand your pain. I’m 28 years old and already had hysterectomy.I had huge multiple fibroieds which were making my life miserable. I was so anemic. I had mayomactomy first but it didn’t help and fibroids grew again. then I got pregnant with all my fibroids. After a painful 7 months pregnancy, my baby girl was born and my uterus is removed.
Doctor kept 1 of my ovaries. I’m completely normal, no lack femininity and completely happy life with my husband.
Now I’m free from all the bleeding and pain. if you have a lot of bleeding you should do whatever your doctor suggests.
Good luck.
