If there are no symptoms and they are not bothering you, they are left alone- otherwise surgery is done. Surgery can either involve a myomectomy in which they are removed, or a hysterectomy. A newer treatment called uterine fibroid embolization can also be done, in which the fibroid is shrunk or destroyed by blocking off the artery that supplies blood to them. You can read more here
