I have been diagnosed with uterine fibroids and am 5 weeks pregnant. Does that make my pregnancy high risk?
Will I need to see an obsetritian or will it be okay to just see midwives? I’m not sure if a homebirth is out of the question now!
The reason why I’m asking here is that I can’t get an appointment with my doctor for another week and I need to know if I need an OB so I can book one before they fill up. Obviously I will ask my doctor when I see him but in a weeks time there may be no OB’s left. They book up extremely quickly in my area.

you need to see an obstetrician asap
There are times when homeoptahic isn’t the way to go.
I think it is cool to want a homebirth. but as an OB nurse I don’t know why anyone would risk their own life or that of their baby without being in a hosptial.
Get an ok from a MD before you make your choice of what to do. If he says it is ok, then go for it.
This is a question you should be asking your doctor, not a bunch of unqualified, online strangers.
Yes it does. If I were you I would contact a Perinatal Physician in your area for high risk pregnancy treatment. Good luck
Not enough information. It depends on the size and the location of the fibroids. Any obstetrician or midwife will tell you the same thing: this devil’s in the details.
(Congratulations on your pregnancy!)
