If they're small, a D&C will work. If they're larger, you might need surgery. Are they giving you problems? If you are not having any problems (like excessive bleeding), don't worry about them. As for a doctor, ask other women. Uterine fibroids are common in black women & jewish women - so ask them about a GYN doctor reference. Good luck. I have a ton of them and am having a hysterectomy so I never have to bleed again. There are less invasive methods though, like myomectomy and ablation.
