Is there financial assistance for fibroid removal or a hysterectomy?
I have been experiencing daily discomfort with my fibroids which is combined with heavy bleeding and clotting that last for more than 45 days without a day of relief. My doctor is monitoring my health progress and has tried several different medications. As soon as we believe we’ve found the right one, it seems like my body becomes immune to the medication and I’m back at the beginning with the same heavy bleeding and discomfort. I have several large fibroids in the inner lining of my uterus and one specifically the size of a grape fruite. Therefore we have concluded that surgery may be our last attempt to cure my condition.
I am only 30 years old, therefore waiting for menopause is not an option because it seems like an eternity. Therefore I am prepared to either have surgery to remove, freeze, electro schock the fibroids or just have a complete hysterectomy.
The only complication is I do not have insurance. I am currently with the Woman’s Health Insurance Program with the medicaid program, but it only covers contraceptive pills.
Therefore my questions is: does anyone know of any programs that will assist in financial assistance for this procedure. I am desperate and need help for my health condition. Any information would help greatly.
Thank you for your kind answers.

Save your money; please do not have a hysterectomy. The uterus is critical to your entire pelvic organ support system, and you will be opening yourself up to further problems and surgeries down the road, with results that you will not be happy with. If your doctor believes that hysterectomy is the only solution for your fibroids, please find another doctor.
