A new procedure called fibroid embolization performed by invasive radiologists (not gynecologists) seems to be promising. During the procedure, the artery feeding the fibroid is occluded with a synthetic material. The technique is similar to some extent to cardiac cathetarization. This procedure makes the fibroid shrink and improves the symptoms.
If you want to perserve fertility, it is possible that your OBGYN could remove them. It really is a personal choice, unless it causes a lot of bleeding or pain. The cure really is a hysterectomy… but you are young, and you may want to have conservative treatment……
Please consult your own OBGYN because only they have your complete med history.
hiya. I had two fibroids when I had a scan three years ago and then I had another scan one year later which again showed two fibroids again with no change. I had 6 months off work and did a lot of walking about 7 miles once a week and used one tsp of organic natural cider vinegar which contains potassium in it. When i got pregnant the scan only showed one fibroid and I guess it was due to the fact that i was off work for 6 months and was stress free, did alot of walking, used one tsp; of organic cider vinegar with my meals, eat healthly ( salads and fruits and little meat, tried to make myself happy, and I also lost weight and was fit and healthy. I also used a machine for gently tightening my stomach (those electro-pads) which i believe helped my circulation around my uterine muscle walls/stomach etc. After having my first baby at 37, my period where no longer painful and I have only one fibroids according to the scans about 6 months ago.
