ovarian cyst uterine fibroids and Ulcerative colitis help?

my sister everymoth is in extrem pain due to a combination of Ulcerative colitis fibriod and cyst.she can only take certain pain killers cause of her uc. she had surgery for the fibriods is still in pain and its growing back back? can someone please tell me what time of medication she could take for her pain that dosent aggrivate her other problems, so she can ask her doctors. or even things i can do for her at home to make her more comfortable. kit makes me sad to see her like this and thir so little i can do.

Hi Kayla. I had multiple fibroids in my uterus, and ended up having to have a hysterectomy, because of severe pain, and heavy bleeding. The problem with fibroids, is that they keep coming back, and will keep getting bigger, so a lot of the time, a hysterectomy is the only way to get relief. I was so happy after mine to not be in severe pain every day, that having surgery didn’t even bother me. If she is young, and wants to still have children, hormone therapy will sometimes work to suppress them. I tried that, and it did work for about a year, then it stopped working. Be aware that there are some serious side affects to using the hormones, so she needs to consider that before choosing this option. I hope whatever she decides, she feels better soon. I know how horrible it is to be in pain like that. I use to put a heating pad on my stomach, and it would help my muscles relax, and it would ease the pain a little ( just something she could try to see if it helps ).
She should consider having a hysterectomy to remove her uterus and ovaries. Then she would only need estrogen but not pain killers and her UC would get a lot better. Pain killers are awfully hard on UC.
