Pregnant with uterine fibroids, how was the pregnancy & delivery?
I am 13 weeks pregnant and on the day my doctor told me I was pregnant I was actually there to see him about a pelvic scan that had been done to see if I had ovarian cycts and uterine fibroids. Well infact I do have 2 cycts on my left ovary, and a fibroid tumor inside my uterus. I am wondering has anyone delt with this, and how was your pregnancy? How was your delivery? What did your doctor do to insure the safety of your baby?
My doctor said he will check development and placement of the baby as well as size of the fibroid around 18 to 20 weeks. And maybe again between then and delivery. He also said that a varity of things can happen, such as the fibroid could shrink, GREAT! OR, the fibroid could continue to grow and actually compete or even starve my baby, the fibroid could stunt the baby’s growth..ect….
i wanted to add that the cycts are only on my left ovary, and that when I ovulate on that side it never releases the egg, it always turn into a cyct. I have been avoiding having it removed, which is what the gyn has wanted to do for almost 5 years. And that the cycts do not affect the pregnancy. ONLY the fibroid does.

It is ok to be concerned but as long as your doctor is monitoring the growth of your fibroid and cysts you should be fine. My doctor appointments were the usual pee in a cup fetal monitor blood work genetic testing etc… I was blessed that my fibroid didn’t have a change and the cysts occurred after I delivered my daughter. I gave birth to a healthy full term baby with no complications. God and faith is a beautiful thing. The only problem my fibroid created was blocking images of my daughter during sonograms and cramping her space when she put on weight. I had a scheduled C section which didn’t bother me one bit felt no pain because I requested an epidural as soon as I felt the contractions. Laugh all you want I can’t tolerate pain. Spent all of 2 days in hospital. My doctor was more concerned with my age being I was 34. I keep myself busy working and carrying on daily routines. Eat healthy and stay positive.
My sister in law had the fibroid and was 4 and half months pregnant, she needed blood transfusions, was on bed rest
it was tough, but not every case is the same,
The doctors could not take the fibriods out because he could have hurt the baby. The fibroids were actually crushing the baby. She has always had a problem with fibroids and knew what could happen but chose to take a chance and get pregnant.
I wish you luck
I had multiple fibroids during my pregnancy. I had many of them before even I got pregnant and they were big. I was lucky and I got pregnant. But the fibroids grew even bigger during the pregnancy. My tummy looked like 8 months pregnant when I was only 3 months pregnant.
When I was 29 weeks pregnant, I got high blood pressure. I was so huge that It was difficult for me to move. At my 30 weeks pregnancy, blood pressure was very high and I got admitted to the hospital. Doctors tried to stablize my blood pressure but they couldn’t after hadr try for the whole night. In the morning my water broke and there was no other option other then doing surgery.
The fibroids were so big that it took 20 minutes to find the baby inside my uterus. The baby was tiny, only 1250 gram weighted.Doctors removed my uterus as there was lot of bleeding.
I stayed in the hospital for 9 days. My baby stayed in the incubator for 2 months. We took her home when She was 1800 gram in weight.
My baby is 7 months old now, She is completely fine. I’m fine too.
I wish you all the best.
