fibroids develop when your body produces too much estrogen anybody can get them. they are hell and reck havoc on some womens lives.
in the last year and a half i’ve had a myomectomy and a hysterectomy due to fibroids

Not necessarily obesity-however, overweight women are more likely to have fibroids as one of the causes is an excess of oestrogen in the body. As oestrogen is both stored in, and produced by, fat cells, this is the reason why. There are other causes of fibroids too-hereditary factors can play a part as can race-Afro-Caribbean women are about a third more likely to suffer. Also, it is thought that women can store oestrogen-like compounds in the liver (derived from pesticides and pollutants) and these can mimic oestrogen, thus causing fibroids. Less common, but still relevant is the fact that a small number of women with inflammatory conditions are prone to fibroids.
