what do you know about fibroids?
my fibroids were found during the checking of my baby. i was bleeding heavily with no pain. i lost the baby in January. but since then i have had irregular periods. by irregular i mean that my period isn’t on time like it used to be. i used to get it every month on the same date for example the 19th of every month. well the past few months its been 2day late..2days early and recently it was 5 days late. also i used to get really bad cramps when i was younger but they stopped now they’re back and 10 times worse. i got my period this morning and it pretty much paralyzed me. i couldn’t walk i couldn’t even roll over in bed with out hurting. i was even in tears. could my fibroids be causing all of this? i have one in my cervix and one in my uterus.
p.s. i know i should go to a doctor ..im just waiting on my insurance to pass. im just really worried and scared and would like some input.
i havent had children i lost my child 9 months ago so i cannit do anything drastic cause i still want children.

Yes fibroid’s can be causing all the symptoms that you describe I hope your insurance doesn’t take too long keep yourself healthy eat well get plenty of rest and see your doctors as soon as possible you don’t deserve to be in pain
My mom had those, and I have similar symptoms. She thinks I have them, and said if one "pops", it is excruciating!!
me and my mother have this problem…as far as i know there isn’t much that can be done about them…they aren’t life threatening…and they don’t cause cancer..they’re just painful…and in my case i think it may have to do something with the fact i’m extremely aenimic.
I have very painful cramps every month, i always have to stay at home..it sucks because even some woman don’t understand…
i just always envision those tampax commericals..the ones where woman are hopping through fields of clover or swimming in a pool or jogging or something
yeh right, i wish…
usually my period is late, heavy and so painful i cry myself to sleep or pass out.
check with your doctor (although, i’ve found them to be no help…and keep in mind most doctors are men, and i’ve found they are very bad at diagnosing or understanding the female body in general)
but check with the doc and ask about vitamins and supplements..i know my mom takes a bunch and she says they help a lot.
i just hate going to the doctor and can’t be bothered even looking because quite honestly i haven’t found anything that helps me other than 4 or 5 aleve and a day off.
best wishes
They are fibrous cysts, non cancerous. They keep growing and cause pain ,cramping and lots of bleeding on your period. They shrink when you go through menopause. If it is too much to bear and you have had all your children then you might be advised to have a hysterectomy.
Unfortunately, fibroids can cause a miscarrige, and I’m very sorry for your loss! But don’t be scared by the diagnosis – you still have a chance to have a baby.
Here is my story: I was diagnosed with fibroids a year ago. They didn’t bother me at all (no pain, no cramps, no heavy periods), but I couldn’t get pregnant (had tried to conceive for 10 months). I have found lots of good info about fibroids at:

(be ready: some really graphic pictures there)
My OB said the only chance to get pregnant is by having abdominal myomectomy with reconstruction and repair of the uterus. I had it last November – the surgery went well and 8 fibroids of different sizes (from 1 to 8 cm) were removed. In 4 months after the surgery I got pregnant!
