Fibroids Symptoms, Causes, Treatments and Removal
Utrine fibroids are treated with medicines (Ibuprofen, gonadotropin releasing hormone agonists) and surgery (myomectomy, hysterectomy, uterine fibroid embolization and ExAblate2000 system.
A main concern for women with uterine fibroids is that they will inhibit fertility or make pregnancy impossible. Though uterine fibroids can make it difficult to become or maintain a pregnancy, the majority of women never have any problems.
After a pregnancy is established, existing fibroids may grow due to the increased blood flow and estrogen levels. These usually return to their original size after the baby has been delivered.
Most women are able to carry their babies to term, but some of them end up delivering prematurely because there is not enough room in the uterus.
Cesarean section may be needed for delivery since fibroid tumors can occasionally block the birth canal or cause the baby to be positioned wrong. After menopause, new fibroids rarely develop and those already present usually shrink.
Consult your gynecologist regarding medical treatment during pregnancy.
Im pretty sure its…NOTHING
They will do something after delivery
Uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), also known as uterine artery embolization, is performed by an interventional radiologist, a physician who is trained to perform this and other types of embolization and minimally invasive procedures. It is performed while the patient is conscious, but sedated and feeling no pain. It does not require general anesthesia.
The interventional radiologist makes a tiny nick in the skin in the groin and inserts a catheter into the femoral artery. Using real-time imaging, the physician guides the catheter through the artery and then releases tiny particles, the size of grains of sand, into the uterine arteries that supply blood to the fibroid tumor. This blocks the blood flow to the fibroid tumor and causes it to shrink and die
UFE Recovery Time
Fibroid embolization usually requires a hospital stay of one night. Pain-killing medications and drugs that control swelling typically are prescribed following the procedure to treat cramping and pain. Many women resume light activities in a few days and the majority of women are able to return to normal activities within seven to 10 days
although there is no medical treatment for uterine fibroid, one should be vigilant about the size of the fibroid which can be detected by ultrasonography .usually very big fibroids are incompatible with conception but there is nothing to worry about a small fibroid. however it is better to consult an obstetrician .
