Laparoscopy is usually just for examination. Hysterectomy means you can no longer bear children. I suggest you check out sites dedicated to removal of fibroids.
A laparoscope is an instrument on a cable with a mini camera that can be used to look inside the abdominal cavity through a small incision. Fibroids and cysts can be removed piece by piece through this small incision. The abdominal cavity is also inflated with air in order to create "room" for the procedure.
A hysterectomy is the complete surgical removal of the uterus (and usually ovaries and fallopian tubes). It is conventionally done through open surgery, though a more modern and preferable way is to remove through the vaginal opening. Recovery is much faster than with conventional open surgery.
Homeopathy can prevent the need for surgery by curing the cause of the fibroids. It also can get rid of ovarian cysts and all sorts of other growths — by curing the cause. Since this is much less invasive, it is probably a more prudent choice to try first.
Surgery should always be the last resort unless there is a life-threatening condition that requires immediate intervention.
According to statistics, hysterectomy is the most abused type of unnecessary surgery.
